Why do people keep saying Floyd needs to fight Martinez?

What? Unrealistic demands? Fighting a guy in a division that he's already fought in.

Do you not remember Chad Dawson?
 naw that's be messed up and it was messed up when Floyd did it too.

in any case, I do want this fight and I think Floyd beats him at 154.

From pretty much everything I've seen, that hatred is part and parcel of people who are fans of one fighter. Fan of one fighter, hate everyone else.

I don't agree with you on this bball.

Martinez made 154lb about 3 years ago. And even for several fights at middleweight, most recently against Macklin, he weighed in at 157.5lbs Weighing in at 2.5lbs below 160 doesn't suggest to me that he is a full middleweight. He probably didn't even have to dehydrate. I mean, why would he if he had so much of a gap in weight.

If he says he can make it I believe him. The guy is a fitness freak and knows his body.

Respect your opinion though. Maybe you have a point. If he wasn't so old i would love him to fight once at 154lb and then fight Mayweather.

It has been that way since I can remember. I remember people only watching when Chavez (Sr.) or Tyson fight, and always having an excuse when they lose.

I would love to see this fight, but really only at 160. I don't know if Floyd could do 160 and don't blame him if he doesn't. I don't wanna see Martinez fight at 154 he's THE Middle weight champ. He brings prestige back to the division.

I take the point about Chad Dawson and I did have the same thing in mind. I don't detract anything from Ward's win though. Dawson called him out at that weight and got his azz beat.

I have to say though, on the reverse, Martinez is fighting one weight class below the most stacked division in boxing . . . .

That's what I mean though. If he says he can make the weight, make the fight . . .

Floyd last fought at 135lbs 10 years ago. He also failed to make a catch weight against Marquez proving he isn't in fact a small 147lb fighter. Martinez last fought at 154lb 3 years ago. He has also never missed weight and two fights ago weighed in at 157.5 for a middlweight bout.

Stop making **** comparisons you tool.

Like I said let Martinez take a fight at 154lbs and look good and I have no problem in asking for the fight.

Sergio imho isn't serious about the Floyd fight ofcourse he would take it if he got it, but if he really wanted it I suggest he drop down to 154lbs fight some names beat them up and stake his claim for the fight.

You are being unrealistic asking a fighter who has never weighed 152lbs to take on someone who weighed 159lbs for their last fight.

No one else is asked to do this no one!

One division below is also quite loaded. He rather be the king of a relatively empty division.:think

Wasnt Pacquiao outweighed by 17 pounds on fight night when he fought Margarito? I dont see the problem here
