They're going to have to stick Ward and Broner on PPV pretty soon else the arse is going to fall out of HBO's boxing budget. Problem is, who's going to pay to watch Broner or Ward.

 

They'll still have PPV's in Sergio vs. JCC Jr. II in the fall. Pacquiao vs. JMM V or whoever in winter? There is no one for Ward to fight in the summer, let alone on a PPV, so I don't see HBO doing a PPV until the fall.

 

I mean turn them into PPV stars. Someone who's going to fill the void of 1.3-1.6 millions PPV sales left by Floyd and Manny.

Source? Other than comments here, there's nothing to support this. Sure, GBP is working more with Showtime lately due to their connections with Espinoza and a sudden willingness to open their wallet, but if anything, Mayweather signing with Showtime makes it more likely Broner will stick with HBO. They'll be more willing to overpay to keep him. They'll promote him more as their top guy. And he wouldn't be the brand fighter if he moves.

HBO needs to show Froch vs Kessler so they can build Andre Ward up for a future showdown. Maybe get Bute vs Pascal aswell.
