Good lord, is this really the new level this forum has attained? People don't even know who Barbados Joe Walcott is? This thread wasn't a ruse to flush these neanderthals from the shrubbery, but boy howdy, how it has achieved just those ends. I think my time here is nearing done.
On a serious note, I think Barbados Joe would beat Wlad. Billy Smith had a sizable height advantage over Walcott, too, and he had to resort to biting to win a decision. Wlad is too much of a sissy for that, so Walcott would beat him.
Walcott was a sensational badass, but I don't know that he could win with modern rules. Fights are too short, and Wlad has all the tools to score all the points. I don't think a fighter that small can devastate a fighter that big, and the fight isn't long enough for Barbados to really tear it down. In his own rules, though? I don't think Wlad could go more than 12-15 rounds. And I think when he was dragged that far, the consequences would be spectacular. We're talking Brewster I gassing. Us big guys have trouble developing THAT much stamina. Edit: I misread his height when I looked up his stats for comparison. Egg on my face, I thought I read five-eleven. Yeah. He goes down in the first.
