If anyone is too busy to watch at the moment: Paul maintains optimism that he'll not only walk again but compete in the ring. Contrary to initial reports, his spinal cord was not separated but merely bruised. It is still very serious and takes a minimum of a year to recover to a point where he might regain lower body functions, but it doesn't mean he's necessarily forever paralyzed.

He gave a timeline for returning to action, recuperation allowing. If it's before his 34th birthday, he wants to box again. He won't return once he reaches age 34. (July 27th, 2015)

...but, watch it when you can. Really uplifting stuff. His positive attitude is infectious. :good

That smile just gets me, to see him so positive. Part of me wonders if he isn't hurting deep inside under the carefree disposition, but with his attitude, if there's a chance for him to get better and walk again, he will.

Other than from this video (four months after the accident), I don't think anyone outside Paul's inner circle has gleaned much information on his condition in the last nine months. :conf

As much as he appreciates his fans and used to be connected with them, he doesn't currently have much of a social media presence. He doesn't have a Facebook page and his official Twitter account has gone unused since July 2011 (a year before his crash).

 

Strange to see Jim Gray conduct himself professionally for once, even coming across as compassionate and human.

 

If anyone can walk again from that, it's Paul. Look at his attitude

Saw this when it aired live. Can't do anything but root for the guy. Seems like one of the nicest, most positive guys to step in the ring.

 

Wow I got goosebumps watching that man. I wish him nothing but the best seriously. Best of vibes and positive energy. Get well soon Paul!! Damn this reminds you of appreciating things when we have them because life is unpredictable. Now matter what angle ur looking at this from, thats what we have to take away from this.

 

Saw it when it aired, just watched it recently too. His attitude is amazing. One can't help but wish him the best. If it's possible for him to walk again, he'll do it one day.
