How I would advise Robert Guerrero to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Haven't read it all , but I agree with Bogo on the ambush strategy. If Floyd leads this will be easier for Guerrero . Aside from that Guerro just needs to try to rough Floyd up on the inside. Basically do what he did against Berto.

Problem for Guerrero is that Floyd is better at everything then he is. Guerro's a tough guy and he can try to make it a rough / dirty fight, and that's probably about his only chance.

 

Guerrerro has 0 % chance actually -50% chance of winning this fight. Its a joke that this fight is happening.

 

Guerrero is lucky in one thing - the style Guerrero fights and likes to fight represents his best chance of beating Floyd. HE doesn't have to change a thing (unlike someone like Marquez who was completely outside his comfort zone in terms of a style clash) - he needs to stalk Floyd and cut off the ring, do not allow Floyd to get that jab going - get him to the ropes, get him close - Floyd's instinct is to cover up, fighting on the inside is not his strength

So that's his best hope, he needs the performance of his career but needs to stick to the things he's naturally good at.

Thta's not to say he has a realistic chance - the problem is power, if Guerrero had the power to hurt Floyd then I'd give him a chance. Thing is Guerrero can only win by applying constant pressure for 12 rounds, I can't see him KOing Floyd - if he had punch power then I'd give him a decent chance

 

However, negating his opponents work on the inside is a major strength of his. Guerrero can't get over eager whilst working up close or he will become tied up, or start taking accumulative shots he won't see on the inside which won't help his workrate in the latter rounds.

 

Floyd is just way too gifted to lose to someone like Guerrero . I just cant see it happening .

I watched Salido-Guerrero last night. For what it's worth Salido was beating up Guerrero on the inside. Like I thought Guerrero was rendered ineffective when forced to try fighting backwards

 

What you fail to realize is that PBF isn't Berto. Berto can't fight on the inside all he does is panic and hold when he gets there. That rough house **** that he tried against Berto won't work on PBF, who's far too crafty and will beat Guerrero at his own game if he does it. Guerrero's best chance is to mix up his attack and try to become unpredictable not letting PBF settle into a rhythm because if he allows this he's done.

 

Guerreros got a better shot than anyone ever did, with Floyd getting old now etc, however I still say Floyd stops him.

 

I see a SD in favour of Floyd.

 

He does raise is back foot when he throws THAT SPECIFIC SHOT(ala Roy jones) but he is picky about throwing that shot. He only throws that when he is sure he can get away with it. I've never seen that shot countered. Ever.

Doubt it. But I know for sure Floyd will be jabbing way more than usual with his dad in the corner.
