If you think he's fighting 6 times...

Also, he should stop his gambling issues now. Dude needs to CHILL with that ****. May as well start before this contract.

Nowhere close to THAT kind of money, but considering how young he is, Alvarez makes good coin. Made 1.2 million vs. Mosley and 2.0 million vs. Josesito.

But yeah, to relate that to the talk of what other sports stars make; pushing 40 year old Bartolo Colon, after being suspended last year for 50 games for PED's, and being in the documents of the famous Miami clinic, signed a 1 year, 3 million dollar contract with one of the smallest markets in the MLB, the Oakland Athletics. So he's making about as much as Alvarez did last year.

He won't make that much money as he won't fight 6 times in 30 months. The deal is for a maximum of six fights to keep him tied to Showtime - that $250mil is how much he'd get if he did take all six fights. In reality he'll probably make half of that as he'll fight 3 more times or so.

Oh... and here I was thinking he went for a contract basis like other sports, where at least his money was secured meaning he can afford to take more risks (a good thing)

It's no doubt a great deal, but the estimate is assuming he fights all 6 times and that each PPV generates over 1 million PPV buys. Floyd is NOT going to fight 6 more times, so he will probably end up making close to 100 million in his last two fights.

Nothing stopping him from fighting 2 decent guys, and then 4 bums.

But you're right, based on his track record, he fights less often than Haye... And that says something!

Who else thought 2-lb Stevie was the titular Forbes referenced, and pondered WTF he would know of the finances of a major PPV being a relative small-fry in the sport? (although he's close with the Mayweather family, and could therefore leak insider estimates being talked about behind closed doors, lending some viability to it)

I don't see what Pac or PBF could do more for the sport? You should say there needs to be more fighters like them. Next in line is Broner and Donaire.
