Seeing Guerrero get nailed by Juan's move brought this to mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM7uSgpp8ek#t=2m33s How would this fight go?:think
The overhand right in general is a very Mexican move. Both Marquez and Salido sneak it over the top after feinting low. Guerrero can be vulnerable when surprised with punches as an opponent rushes forward, even Katsidis showed that in spots. Right hands are obvious priorities against southpaws, setting them up is specific to each fighter.
At 147, the Ghost is too damn tenacious for Marquez. Everyone is referencing Salido for the Ghost, years ago at 126 (I believe). If we remember Marquez is pushing 40 & Juan Diaz gave him hell at 135. The Ghost is better than him in every way including power. Right now the Ghost beats Marquez. (But that doesn't mean Marquez is not the greater fighter overall). This content is protected
Guerrero looked like **** against Aydin at 147lbs and JMM is better than him at every single thing possible. I can do the same too, you see? Unless JMM ages dramitcally overnight, JMM beats him to a clear decision in a competitive fight.
The Ghost did look like hot garbage in his 1st fight back, 2 weight classes over where he last fought after about a 2 year layoff, you're correct. But then in his follow up fight he absolutely dominated 1 of the biggest welterweights in boxing.
You are correct, but did you see how many times Berto connected with that uppercut on Ghost?? Lets not forget to mention that Berto pretty much sucks on the inside. Ghost would be eating many uppercuts from JMM for sure, it would be a fun fight tho, one that JMM wins close but clear IMO.
Which is why I specifically said Berto is 1 of the biggest welterweights. Which he is, started at 160. I do not believe Marquez hits as hard as Berto, do you??
No i dont think he does, which is way i didn't say he would stop him. But he is far more accurate than him, alot better on the inside, and just flat out more skilled than him.
What top tier opponents has Guerrero beaten north of 130lbs? A bunch of shot JMM left overs and one of the biggest hype jobs in the sport in Berto? Even a past prime Pacquiao is far and far far better than anyone Ghost has ever fought.
I never said he wasn't more skilled. But he is 40, he has been slipping & the Ghost did just dominate a far bigger, stronger fighter. This is in no way an insult to Marquez (who I believe is the 2nd greatest active fighter). It's just the natural order of things. Floyd isn't the same as he was at 28 Pacman isn't the same now. Marquez isn't the same. B-Hop isn't 32 anymore. It's not an insult to say an older great fighter will probably lose to a younger fighter. Visit Camacho/SRL.
Fair enough. I understand what you mean, but personally, i dont think much of Guerrero, and IMO even JMM at this stage has enough to beat him.
I challenge you to bookmark this tread. After May 4th, many people will change their tune. The ghost is going to lose a controversial decision to Floyd. You heard it here 1st.
