My Canelo-Trout theory...

    Trout keeps ginger at the end of his punches all night. Depending on how much stamina ginger has will tell if he gets stopped or not. I've seen him get winded & I've seen him fight a measured pace. Either way Trout beats him. Too tall, his size, southpaw, prime.

    Trout is faster
    has better stamina, footwork, handspeed. The only advantage ginger (may) have is power.

    I disagree, sir. Canelo has the faster hands. I see this as a toss-up fight, but I am picking Canelo by decision. Canelo is also definitely more powerful, but I really don't think power will come into play here. They both have shown good chins. Whoever wins, I think it will be by the judges' verdict. Trout's size is something that plays a big part. Jr. middleweight is the lightest he has ever fought. Trout is a big jr. middleweight. Canelo is more busy and has the overall better skill.

    Canelo getting stopped by Trout is a joke. Trout pulling out a decision, now that is a conversation that we can have. Still, I say Canelo W 12. Now, if Canelo wins fairly, will you give him his credit? As you see, I already give Trout a lot of credit.

    I will give ginger all the credit in the world. I'm still not sure of ginger's power though. I'm fairly certain that Trout could also stop Cintron, Lopez, Gomez. Hell maybe even ginger's mummified version of Mosley too.

    If ginger starts huffing & puffing like he did against Gomez, I do not think he'll reach the 12th, not with a big strong jr middleweight hitting him.

    The Gingican is also very good at cutting off the ring, and moving his opponent to where he wants him. That combined with his power is a formidable thing.

    Still, Canelo 'aint really all that fast. I think Trout will be able to elude him all night, and score a convincing UD. (even against the protected Alvarez.) It should be a fascinating fight.

    Well when you fighting a midget with no punch you could even tied one hand behind your back and move him to anywhere you want...

    I agree that the Gomez fight was not a good showing for young Alvarez. He got hit way too often. The fight before against Rhodes, who was the #4 jr. middleweight in the world at the time, was quite impressive. Now, Rhodes is no Trout, but a good opponent that was expected to test Alvarez a bit.

    He was #4 Ring Magazine. Regardless of rank, he was on a winning steak and people considered him a good opponent. He was dominated by Canelo. This deserves some credit.

    Ohh, I give him some credit. I do notice you didn't answer the question. Where was he before being sought as an opponent for ginger??:think

    But yeah, that's about the only fight I do give ginger a little credit for. Not much, but some.

    I didn't avoid the question, I just don't remember every single step of Ryan Rhodes' career. We agree that it was a good performance. Where we differ, is that I give Canelo credit due to the fact that he is only 22 years old and you seem to be a bit hard on the guy for his lack of great competition. Now is the time to step it up and Trout is the best fight for him to do it. Beating Trout proves more than beating anyone else in the division right now. I could see your criticism if he were 30 and hadn't fought anyone.

    Well I'll just tell you, I was just as hard on Broner. But I have to give credit where it's due. He went to 135 & beat the best champ there. That means something. While ginger has never done any such thing. In fact I'd go as far as to say that his resume is nothing more than a contenders. It's like Mikey Garcia's without the Salido fight.

    :deal Trout is a very good technician, but I've never thought of him as a slick fighter. The comparison's to Floyd are ridiculous.
