DeGale is #4 WBC but would you enjoy a possible title fight against Ward?

DeGale has good boxing talent, with zero boxing brain. I happen to think he takes Abraham or Bika on a UD, possibly stops the former late on.
Degale is learning his craft well, there is no rush.

Ward is just another level, Degale could have been a SMW champ back in 1997 - 2008, when there were beltholders like Beyer, Ottke, Siaca, Mundine, Lacy....etc around. But Andre Ward is just on a different level at the moment, Degale should go for Abraham or even Froch if he wants a reasonable chance at picking up a belt.

id like to see degale vs abraham & i think james could beat him but a better fight would be groves vs abraham, that win would move groves to the next level nicely

Who gives a flying **** if you don't rate Ward?

He's a top 5 P4Per and will be for years to come.

Ward has fought very serious opponents. He just ran a gauntlet of the best the division has to offer.

Somebody like DeGale would have been a noteworthy challenger for a Joke Al or Ottke, but not Andre.

Lets not get too carried away with what Ward did. Good as it was, I always felt that because Ward didnt seem interested in Bute it dampered things a bit.
Although it was good it wasnt anything like what Froch did to get to the final.

Froch really in a way became the S6 legend even though he didnt win.
Ward fights unwell Kessler at home, good win
Ward then fight A Green. Is that now a top major fight and win.
Ward then gets unfairly given 2 points when he didnt fight Dirrell.
Ward then fights Abraham who was on a 1-2 run and had lost his last 2 S6 fights. Thats not impressive.
Ward then fights old jaded plodder Froch and guess what? Ward was the home fighter in all of those fights.
If anything Froch deserves to be called the S6 legend.
    He fights Dirrell at home
    Kessler in Denmark
    Abraham in Finland
    Johnson in America
    Ward in America.
Consider that Froch was away in his fight before Dirrell, and that was against another original S6 fighter.
So out of the 6 original S6 fighters Froch fought all of them and Johnson and was away for 5 out of those 6 fights and that takes its toll on any fighter, and with all those things against Froch and the fact that he is an old past best fighter and only lost by 2 points on 2 cards against Ward and slow old Froch was beating Ward in the last couple of rounds, then Froch fights Bute straight after who Ward didnt want to fight.
Thats just as impressive as Ward was, never once the away fighter and had an easier run.

Its been made to sound more than it was. In all of Wards S6 fights only Kessler and Froch were top tier for this present time.

Ward never once fought a top undefeated fighter

There would of been no doubt Ward would of fought Bute had he beaten Froch, but got blown away instead, Bute's fault , not Ward's.

DeGale will never be a world Champ, the division is too tough for him.

Why didnt Ward fight Bute before then?
Ward was apperently saying Bute had to fight other fighters first :oops: and then claimed that was just trying to hype the fight after Bute had signed for Froch.

I think DeGale will be a world champ, he is a gifted fighter.
If Ward were to fight DeGale, I expect he will do it now before DeGale improves and he wont fight Groves as Groves has experience in beating undefeated Olympic gold medallists and is undefeated.
Really the division is empty at this time. Wards biggest win is an unwell fighter, who hadnt mixed in top world class for years, who was defeated by an old past best previous champ, years previously and was rusty. Thats his best win

Ward would absolutely decimate Degale at this point, experience, skill and physically he's far ahead of Degale i feel. On a sidenote Degale needs to find a trainer that is going to refine the style he is trying to achieve and enhance the skills that he clearly has to another level. Right now Degale doesnt quite know what style he's supposed to be fighting, his trainer doesnt know how to get the best out of him and for the forseeable future i see Degale struggling against opposition he should be dominating.

DeGale wouldn't get past Bika. The guy hasn't progressed like people expected.

I would pick DeGale over Bika. Bika has been found out a bit. Bika gets rated highly because he troubled Ward and was beating Ward in round 12, but Bute just outboxed Bika and showed the way
