...although, I have growing suspicions that "Andy Ruiz Jr." is a bit like William Shakespeare - a legend of a single fictional entity, based on the works of many collaborators. Yes, I'm beginning to give serious credence to the idea that Ruiz might in fact be two Mexican welterweights inside a giant skin suit - much the same as cartoon characters pretending to be a horse with one playing the "ass" (inter-species pun not intended) end and the other the head...or Chinese New Year dragons... :think

No actual fatty of that size could be so fluid in his movements, after all...and as you say, skilled Mexican boxers as a rule must not grow larger than 147lbs. It's written down, somewhere.

So really, that 17-0 (11) record is a sham. "His" record should be 0-0-0 with 17 No Contests.

I wonder who they are, inside the costume. Pablo Cesar Cano and Jesus Soto Karass, perhaps?

Philosophically, I suppose it's only a small leap from their lucha libre tradition of having the cause célèbre be focused on the character of the "mask" rather than the concealed identity beneath. Still, it isn't the American way and I don't like it. :bart
