Round 4

Ilie is thrusting his lead foot out and alternately jabbing or feinting. Either way, Erdos hangs back and blocks. Ilie loses his footing on a slippery part of the canvas and the ref has it dabbed with a towel by someone outside the ring. (no, no Titi Tudor - an actual towel). Ilie is coming forward throwing uppercut combos to the body. Erdos stands his ground throwing straight shots down the pipe. Neither appears to have much power behind their stuff, but Ilie is more insistent and forcing Erdos back and seeming to bother him with the body work.

Round 5

Ilie is pressing in on Erdos with underhanded lobs to the sides. He slips again on the canvas. The ref calls time out. Time in. BIG uppercut flurries by Ilie, all downstairs, pinning Erdos on the ropes. Erdos weathers it and manages to jab his way out to center ring. The crowd is going wild. Big looping right hand around the guard by Ilie. Another clubbing right grazes as Erdos leans forward to clinch. They drag each other to the ropes and lumber into them in embrace until the ref gets in to pry them apart. Jabs from mid-range by Ilie. Erdos tries ducking in again to hold and Ilie punishes him with a downward jab rapped upside his skull. Wild hooks by Erdos, arm punches from outside. Ilie stands pat and counters with little needle jabs.

Nine minutes left; Ilie can probably get the stoppage if he pushes for it.

Erdos loathes those body attacks. (and probably wishes Ilie would just keep jabbing the mitts he's been very politely offering as targets all night)

 

Round 6

Ilie is dancing to his left and fluttering a long jab, confusing Erdos a bit. Erdos has to spin with his guard up and seems ill at ease with jabs coming in at his head from odd angles he can't keep up with. Erdos is consequently leading with messy wide punches, and getting dodged and countered with jabs as Ilie keeps circling him.
