    Round 7

Hovhannisyan is forced to relent as Perez comes slamming in with l-r-l-r uppercut combos to the body. Perez is taking ducking slide-steps inside under Hovhannisyan's jab and planting his own. Hovhannisyan tries to hook him in the face at short range but Perez bounces out of the way on his toes. Perez comes forward with a hard right hand and backs Hovhannisyan up. Hooks to the sides by Perez, hunkering down low. Hovhannisyan tries to line up a straight right to the body. They hook together and both land but it's Hovhannisyan who backs up. Double overhand right by Perez, missing but gaining ground. Hovhannisyan ducks on the outside, fists up around his chin. Hovhannisyan is focusing on D and just pawing his jab.

    10-9 Perez

    67-65 Perez

IMO tonight's ShoBox is probably better than tomorrow's Showtime Championship Boxing will be.

Smith ought to easily out-box K9, who's one of the worst paper champs in recent memory, in an ugly affair.

I'll be glad to see Sugar Shay finally get a belt after so many years of hard work and career snags - but it won't be pleasant to watch.

Raul "Diamante" Marquez and Steve Farhood have the same score as me, 67-65 to Perez.

Raul sining Lady Gaga. LOL. Damn Raul.
This is turning into a war now. Art would be better served to sit down on his punches and trade IMHO.

    Round 8

Hovhannisyan is tossing up backhanded jabs while keeping his left arm hanging straight down at his side. Perez charges in to hook, and they swap connects. 1-2 by Perez and Hovhannisyan answers with a flush right hand that turns Perez's head. Hovhannisyan manages to get in two hooks to Perez's one in an exchange, and gains confidence. Big left hook by Perez reaching in from outside. More jabs up from the holster by Hovhannisyan. Now he really does resemble Darchinyan a bit (except orthodox) with his hands drooping low and the awkward punches.

    10-9 Hovhannisyan

    76-75 Perez

Art round. He landed some nice shots, and I think he hurt Perez at one point.

    77-74 Perez.

100% agree. He's the bigger "stronger" guy, but Perez' body work has really bothered him.

Will there be a vbookie event for it?

I have to ask, as there's been such a splurge of them for this weekend, with several being less significant and competitive matchups.

I'm in the minority, I will be picking Bundrage to win this... I don't think he's good, but he's almost been underrated because he holds a title.

edit: but hey, I picked Holt by KO, sooooooooooooo...

    Round 9

Perez rushes in on Hovhannisyan with several uppercuts, missing most as Hovhannisyan sits back against the middle rope and then sidesteps to get clear. Perez is following and showing the jab, and lands a flush right hand lead to the nose. Hovhannisyan responds with a big resounding left hook. Hard flurry by Perez, going from body to head. Hovhannisyan jabs and circles out. Perez pins Hovhannisyan to the ropes and churns away with uppercuts. Hovhannisyan is slapping over the top with his left hook while backing up as Perez sticks the jab in his face and slices at the body. Overhand rights by Perez. Hovhannisyan bops him on the head with his own right hand over the top. Hovhannisyan tries some slick moves with his back to the ropes, shimmying and countering with left hooks. Perez just marches him down and keeps pouring in uppercuts.

    10-9 Perez

    86-84 Perez

Also something to note. Perez is a natural 122-126 lber. Even if he loses, and considering Hovhannisyan is Gary Shaw's boy, Perez' stock goes up. Somebody get this man a shot in his own weight class.
