As we saw yet again tonight, Peterson seems to take three or four rounds before he gets his feet under him. His tendancy to start slowly is really puzzling. He's not like someone like Chavez Sr or Joel Casamayor or Kostya Tsyu, someone who just doesn't throw a lot of punches early. Peterson always looks like someone who's just learning how to box until he gets warmed up. That said, he also demonstrated again tonight that once he does get his footing he's world class. The question is whether he can navigate those precarious first four rounds without getting laid flat. Maybe he can, and then maybe he could surge and outslick Lucas. Unfortunately for Peterson though, Lucas also gets stronger and better as a fight wears on. Still this fight makes sense for both guys. I do expect it to happen, since both are promoted by Golden Boy. A + fight. I have Lucas by nineth round kayo, with the scorecards roughly even at the time of the stoppage.
Matthysse would go for the kill, knowing what happened in his fights against Zab and Alexander ! So I got Matthysse by T/K.O . Peterson is a good fighter but not good enough to break Lucas toughness. :yep
Matthysse KO would have to be the huge favorite. It is likely Peterson is the most powerful fighter Matthysse has fought (as strange as that sounds) and that he is the second best fighter Matthysse has fought (to Alexander, yes, Alexander is better than Peterson, though quite wildly different).
I think a lot of people would be surprised at how badly Matthysse would react to Peterson's body attack.
So weird...I was just gonna make a topic asking what is in Petersons future, and that I hope Mathysse fights him and knocks his head off So yeah. Matty by Decap
I can't pick a winner. I just do not see Peterson getting hurt or stopped easily, and I think he can out point Matthyse, then again Mattyse really does shock everyone with his KO ability, could Peterson stand toe to toe with him. TBH thinking about it actually if I had to pick a winner, I think Peterson might win this on points but there are a lot of question marks and I wouldn't bet on it but I think he'd edge a really close decision. Would be a war.
lol i wasnt gonna make it thought it would never happen then i saw Schaefer say it might be made for May i was like :admin one of the most fan-friendly fights that could be made this is a fight to show non boxing fans to get them into it
Peterson on points. I think his speed and upperbody movement plays a factor. Alexander and Zab basically have minimal upperbody movement
I like Peterson, and being a fan, I don't think he's on that level. He aint strong enough to bang with Lucas, not durable enough to take his power all night, and he doesnt exactly run. I'd rather Peterson took a look at other more winnable and less dangerous fights. Brandon Rios. Zab Judah. Danny Garcia. Just someone who aint gonna take his head clean off or school him.:think That said, I'll never say he's the best of his division either. Don't get me wrong.:nono
