I think so. That fight had it all.

    Thoughts?

Hell yea. Taylor had Pavlik basically out of there. Pavlick was one lucky man to have Smoger in the ring that night. Then Pavlik slowly climbs back into the fight and viciously beats Taylor down and knocks him out.

A really good fight with a dramatic comeback. I think the word "classic" is thrown around a little too easily though. I'd say the likes of MAB-Morales, Castillo-Corrales and Rafa-Izzy were classics. Those fights all had the sustained excellence that I think this was missing.

    Excellent fight though.

Usually being screamed by Kellerman "this is a modern classic" says that **** all the time and it pisses me off.

Was a great fight, but the hype it created for Pavlik exceeded the quality of the actual fight.

Posted about this fight in the British Forum.

It was a all-time great fight, and neither fighter was the same after it.

Awesome fight and one of the most memorable knockouts for me. Taylor getting beat down in the corner was rough.

Maybe a classic is a bit of a stretch depending on who you ask but it was one of those fights that will be memorable for me for whatever reason. Maybe the hype or the electric atmosphere where I was watching the fight.

It was a very good back and forth fight, but I still prefer Pavlik Miranda for sheer edge of your seat excitement. Now that was just an insane fight.

It was a better fight than Hagler vs Hearns.

Hearns was spent after round 1.

Technically it was a by far better fight.

    Deep down people know this.
