    I would have picked Collins to beat Ward. I think he would have outworked, out toughed and just kept coming after Ward.
    We have seen before that Ward gets tired as the fights go on and I think Collins would have stopped him somewhere after the half way mark.

    Whats so shocking to you Zod? A Collins stoppage after the halfway point seems very real. Ward would be fine early on, but Collins work would take its toll
    Collins would be attacking Ward throughout and Ward fades down the stretch.




    KO Artist always adds new and interesting information to the various boxing debates I have seen him on.

    You must find the fact that Slops was commenting on British fans insinuating that one of the fighters is British. As someone from Leeds you would know the difference, im sure :oops::think.

    KO, I just don't think Roy would have got very much credit for beating Collins in 99. Especially from the Jones naysayers, who probably would of accused him of ducking Johnson "a guy that beat him in sparring" to fight a retired past his best Steve Collins, who never even fought at 175.

    In that interview, I feel Hbo was pretty clear on who they wanted Roy's opponents to be. Collins wasn't one. If there was a time for the fight, It should have been at 168, before Roy moved up.

    You do realize that Collins wasnt a big puncher right?

    Collins pretty much stopped no one of note in the middle rounds.

    And you expect him to stop a prime, defensive fighter like Ward in the mid rounds?

    Name one prime, top level fighter that Collins ever stopped in the mid rounds?

    Obly one I can think of is Pyatt,and hat was at 160

    Frazier was a stay busy fight. It had been less than 2 months since his last fight against Grant.

    He fought and easily beat Johnson 5 months later.

    Collins got in the ring AFTER the Frazier fight.

    So tell me, who was the more credible opponent.

    Reggie Johnson who held he IBF title at 175,and who had a win over Collins?
    or
    Steve Collins, who had been retired for 2 years and who had never fought at 175?

    Ill wait.
