Paul moved to 154 when Floyd was at ww. PAC was actually going for a fight at 154 and Williams was down but of course PAC said no.
Some of you can't read. There was a clear window of opportunity to make this fight happen. manny instead opts to get a 154 belt in dishonorable fashion. What validity does the size excuse have? I've always acknowledged how everyone brushed aside Paul including "warriors" like Cotto and even Mosley. If you can provide a clear window of opportunity to make a Paul fight that the other welters or super welters didn't take, you can bring it up. The focus of this thread is Paul-manny since there was a prime time for it.
The window of opportunity was very small. Since Pac Cotto, all but one of PWill's fights were at middleweight.
Mayweather did say this. Then went on vacation. Not insulting him, it is what it is. I dont see how anyone defends him.
Pac's so called title at light middleweight was a farce. I never considered him a light middleweight champ so I never wanted or expected him to fight top light middleweights.
Williams would have given Pacquiao and Mayweather major problems imo. Long reach, heighth, and massive volume of punches might has overwhelmed Mayweathers shoulder roll defense. Against Pacquiao it probably would have been tough for Pacquiao to get on the inside. Both great fights imo
Paul was constantly ducked by the best at 147 to 160 because at his best was a major problem. Floyd didnt even mention Paul's name and Pac was clear when he sa8d Paul was too big or tall, that he really wasn't on his "to do list". Paul, at his peak.....was avoided like the plague.
Yup....most people respect that more than "lip service". Pac made it clear Williams wasn't on his radar where Floyd made it seem as though he wanted the fight and would make it happen.
Floyd said he'd fight the winner of the fight and Paul got knocked out. So he never said he'd actually fight Paul
