Well Addie, for wahtever it's worth, I don't quite see Zarate in the same tier as Marciano, Sanchez, Saldivar, and Gomez. I know it's up a weight (4lbs), but can we completely ignore head to head? That's the only way I could see putting Zarate at the same tier as Gomez. So Gomez wins head to head comprehensively. Zarate's resume at his best weight is probably better but not overwhelmingly. What about Gomez's accomplishments up a weight? He at least attempted a comeback against Sanchez. The Laporte win was legit. He got a gift against Lockridge but only because he mounted a comeback in the late rounds. Even against Nelson, he went out hard. I don't see Zarate being in the same tier as the aforementioned.
And I for one didn't see Zarate - Pintor as a robbery. I've seen much much worse.

I thought it was very close as well, Pintor-Zarate. Not a huge robbery in the least, but I did think Zarate deserved it.

    It's a double edged sword.

Zarate showed his versatality. He wasn't just a one-dimensional stalker.
    He looked good outboxing Pintor.
Physically he was the same old Zarate.

But the fight also showed that he wasn't the same destroyer mentally anymore.

Zarate won the fight, of course.

How wide did you see it, Lester? I had it (as far as I can remember, it's been maybe three years) for Zarate by only two points.

I'd say the correct score should have been 8-7 (if you're a fan of Pintor) or 9-6 (plus the knockdown) in favour of Zarate.

Some rounds were pretty close but I don't think Pintor deserved the victory.

I think Zarate's shaken confidence and him staying strictly in a boxing mode is what cost him the fight though.

Nobody yet, only two people gave an opinion. I'll have a think on it between rounds of Price-Thompson and kick someone at the back of that and reading any more opinions. It's Lewis or the Lynch.

    :happy

As for Basilio. I love him but he can't be above Lou Ambers, at least I don't think. Certainly above Zivic who you overrate.

Well, you got a nice, solid minute of thought.

I don't feel I'm familiar enough with Lynch and his work to really make a call here, but for what it's worth, looking at the record, I'd keep Lennox.

What made you decide to keep lynch in the end
