It seems so long ago that he was a badass at the top of the sport. He wasn't proving anything, only wasting time, when he was on his streak of W UD Clottey, W UD Margarito, W UD Mosley; and he followed that up with W MD JMM, L SD Bradley, L KO6 JMM. He's lost 2 of his last 3 no matter how you look at it. Horrible **** streak in his last 6 fights. 2010-2012 = shitty career stretch for Pacquiao. I would pick him over most guys out there, but not over all of them which was the case for years. I certainly wouldn't pick him to stop most of the top 15 guys out there at WW.
It should be. Manny doesn't look interested anymore and should retire to his country the greatest of all time and enjoy his $$ w/ his family. He has too many distractions w/ being a congressman and all his other interests. Complacency is a dangerous place in boxing. A hungry Manny never would've been KO'd my Marquez. He's earned his retirement as a legit ATG.
He's saying he lost twice officially, and one by the general public consensus. One of the official losses he won by the opinion of the general consensus. But his statement is true that in his last 3 fights he has lost either officially or in the mass public opinion in each of them.
His career is over. He was the greatest hype job possibly ever in this sport. As time goes on manny's legacy will be one which worsens. People will begin to reflect on the timeliness of his opposition as well as the major hurdle of OSDT, which he continues to reject to this day. He's a shot hack who was never more than the volume of syringe that he used. Good riddance
Disagree on both accounts. JMM always bested him (he just happened to get knocked down frequently too). He is not an ATG. Great fighter in this generation, sure. Not all-time.
Officially, he lost to Bradley, even though everyone knows he didn't. And Officially, he beat Marquez in fight 3, even though everyone knows he didn't. Comprende, amigo?
Either way it smacks of agenda. Let me remind you once more that there was no consensus for JMM 3, only for Bradley. It's a false equivalence: http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Manny_Pacquiao_vs._Timothy_Bradley http://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Manny_Pacquiao_vs._Juan_Manuel_Marquez_(3rd_meeting)
so officially or not, he has a win and a close loss vs p4p comp, plus a ko loss. see my link above debunking the bolded
