The fact that he's Manny Pacquiao, the second coming himself, has a lot to do with those numbers. ;)

In the boxing community, it's widely regarded that Marquez won the fight, as it is widely regarded Bradley lost to Pac.

    End of Story.

    No.

    Officially, he is 1-2.

By the mass consensus of the public, he is 1-2.

But each of the three individually, he EITHER lost officially, or lost in the mass consensus of the public.

You are stretching hard as **** to try to fight what was originally a totally true statement.

there is no poll of boxing experts more comprehensive than that. many of the same guys scored the 2nd to JMM. but whatever makes you sleep better

i'm telling you again, there was no consensus for JMM 3. if you average out the scores its 114-114. how can you look at those numbers and keep at it?

I legitimately feel that pac's place in history (if he even has one) will steadily decline from this point on.

His opposition was very carefully selected once he moved above 135 (once he took on DLH). The only legit win he had was against Bradley. Every other win was against someone who was old, coming off consecutive losses/poor performances, at catch-weights. Bradley was the only prime fighter he fought; but I give him full credit for that win :good

Beating Tim Bradley doesn't make someone an ATG though. Oh, and the failed cherry pick against JMM x2 is embarrassing.

Then there's the whole "I can't take OSDT thing".

All of this combined results in serious legacy degradation as time progresses. manny had a stretch of about 2 years (3 at most) where he was an explosive fighter. But his explosiveness was against carefully selected opposition. So it's tough to gauge how good he ever actually was. And he didn't do OSDT.

What's the second fight got to with anything? Every fight is different. It's widely regarded Marquez beat Pacquiao in the 3rd. What more is there to say on it? I take it you believe Pacquiao won it?

    Because I don't give a **** about 100 "experts."

1,000+ fans mean more to me. It's around 80% to JMM in every poll spanning many websites, and those who speak vocally in favor of Pacquiao are the same bias folks who really shouldn't be given any value here. Plus, anyone I know personally in real life, non internet boxing talk, all also score it to JMM.

How can you not realize this and keep at it?

It is clearly a case of mass consensus from the public scoring it for JMM.

As time progresses manny's career will be looked upon in worse and worse light. I'm not trying to be a hater, but a spade's a spade.

JMM clearly beat manny in fight III and fight I. They were goddamn near indisputable. Judges and journalists, who have an agenda, rewarded manny for failed aggression hence the decision for him to win. In reality, JMM was handing out free lessons.

JMM will undoubtedly possess the greater legacy (than manny) when it's all said and done.

    Lets put this into perspective.......

1 All Paquaio-Marquez fights but the last one were very close hard fought matches with the dec really going either way. The last fight Pac was ahead & seeming to be gaining control when he ran into a devastating Ko punch fro Marquez. Again nothing was decided on which was the better fighter really. If Paquaio is OK to fight again mentaly as well as physically the surely Marquez owes Pac another shot deoesnt he??? After all Pac gave him 4 tries.

2 There is no way in hell Pac lost to Bradley that was a blatent robbery. Even Bradley looked stunned & surprised at the biased decision. His face looked similar to Evander Holyfield's face when Jimmy Lennon jr read out Eugenia Williams totally ludicrous scorecard giving the fight to Holyfield.

Yes providing Manny has suffered no ill effects from the KO then Marquez has to give him a rematch if only to save face

your opinion on Pac counts as much as Farmboxer's opinion on Floyd. that includes any fight scores you volunteer.

JMM is well behind Pac in ATG rankings, who are you kidding?

Do you even watch boxing you knob? Manny's legacy is greater than JMM despite being beaten by him.

    You aren't being objective whatsoever.

Yes, a small proportion of the boxing community. Very small. Even at that the majority of them voted Marquez. Stands to reason, if the poll was bigger, the gap would widen to a larger Marquez vote, if you're taking this poll as a serious indicator. That's logic.

So, a few more hundred or thousand votes in this poll, and the % of Marquez votes should be a lot bigger.

That said, I find it hard to take a poll that lists Gabriel Montoya as an 'expert' seriously.
