If Duran had beaten Hearns/Hagler/Leonard 2/Benitez, would you have him top 3?

    Discuss.

I've been thinking about his career and yeah he's had some great atg wins. Palomino, De Jesus, Barkley, Cuevas, Moore, etc.

What if he had beaten the fighters I listed? Would he make top 3 on your list ATG?

    I have him @ #8 atm.

    SRL 2 @147lbs, Benitez and Hearns@154lb, Hagler@ 160lb I'd have him as a strong candidate for GOAT.

So out of curiosity you got SRL as a strong candidate for GOAT being that he beat all those guys?

It has more to do with Duran being the naturally smaller man.

No due to the fact SRL wasn't a lightweight ATG and didn't clock up over a 100 career wins, also i'm judging each fantasy victory at the time Duran actually fought all the mentioned fighters ie he faced pretty much all those guys in their prime so all these supposed wins would be over prime versions of each of those fighters.

I do rate SRL very highly though above Duran for that matter.

If you consider how small Duran was compared to those guys and the fact that he faced them at their best, It would be UNBELIEVABLE. Maybe the GOAT!

    I just don't see him beating Harry/Ray.

Even with those wins. Those two have beaten atgs over and over again on a consistent basis.

I think he can overtake Langford/Armstrong though

He's already top 5 in my book, well 5 or 6

if he would of gotten those wins you listed he's be the GOAT in my book

I mean people forget duran didn't start his career in the 80's

Greb could still be argued over him.

He'd be in the top 5 instead of top 12 though.
