A few years ago the british HW crop was looking formidable. Audley Harrison was still lurking in the background; a confidence fighter who could rule the division if he just kept hope. There was David Haye, the hard hitting cruiser weight with a bad attitude; he built a fight up with words and brought an opponent down with his speed. There was Del Boy, a mentally unstable tough guy who showed promise and desire to fight for glory. There was Tyson Fury, a man who had youth, size, bravery, and a will to be the best. Finally, there was David Price. The heir to the Klitschko throne. The man to take over when the dust settled and a new era began. He was 6'9", powerful, and had a lot going for him. Fast forward a few years and we are left with just one. Tyson Fury. Though his comrades have been picked off, I expect that Fury will continue on his quest for greatness. With careful honing of the uppercut, this kid has what it takes to go down as one of the greats.
After Price's previous fight (not Thompson, but Skelton) I decided then that Fury was the better of the two. With that said, I would love to see Wlad-Fury, but I wouldn't give Fury a big chance of winning. I don't think he brings anything Wlad can't take care of. I also don't think Fury hits that hard, seems to be more of a "pat, pat, pat" with his punches.
Says who? Price is still the goods. He was completely dominating Thompson, then he made one mistake (prolly due to Thompson being a southpaw) and got hit with a rabbit punch, which considering it was Thompson throwing it, would have KO'd any fighter alive. Big deal. If anything, this experience will make Price an even better fighter. He'll destroy Fury when they finally meet, which, luckily for Tyson, will now be further down the road. Only on ESB does one loss (from a lucky punch, no less) equal end of career.
Oh man this guy is drinking the kool-aid hard. Price isn't still the goods. Price never was the goods, and CERTAINLY isn't **** now. You could see in Thompson's body language in the fight and the things he was doing that even as a fat grandpa he could maneuver the amateurish Price around. Price is the next Tye Fields.
Jeez, Slyk, you have over 1800 posts and still DKSAB.... Sad. But heck, you're entitled to your fantasies. Enjoy them! Tyson Fury will unify the HW division, get elected to congress, and eventually be crowned Pope. Sounds good!
:smoke how bout Tye Fields vs David Price for the 'Great White Nope' Heavyweight Belt?? [yt]6j92ZgCDJMg[/yt]
Fury is the truth, the fact we seen him get knocked down and not look too wobbly and survive is a good sign he took an overhand right that landed perfectly regardless of what heavyweight threw it hes improvin every fight he could rule the division when the Klits retire
I was in a position recently in a negotiation where the boss told me, "You are the voice of reason in this." I told him: "Then we're ****ed." I think that's a proper analogy to Tyson Fury being the final hope of British boxing.
HW division should be put on hold until the Klits decide to hang up the gloves. They have ZERO competition.
