Never mentioned leading up the JMM fight, which is why Pac fans cried about "oh, he's never asked this of any opponent before" during the Dec. '09/Jan. '10 failed negotiations.

Well, everyone on that list are lightweights and a featherweight.

Everyone Pac has fought since DLH have been junior welters or welters.

And Margarito is 10X worse of an opponent than Mosley was, for the record. I hope that was just an error of memory.

 

So you got 2 guys roughly the same size who fought similar level opponents (to be generous to Juan) 2 weight classes apart. Who took more risks? Obviously h2h Pac's opponents were tougher, though it's not like there's a p4p scalp there for JMM either.

Marg was a much better win than Mosley at that point. If that was the same Mosley that beat Marg, why is nobody giving Pac credit for it?

I'm assuming you disagree with Marg vs Mosley. Mosley was washed up, no doubt about that. That's why even Pac fans don't give him much credit for that one. Marg did not look washed up at all, and while he was no great win, he was a hell of tough out for a guy Pac's size. Much tougher than that Mosley, or Ortiz or Berto or Aydin.

It's over if he can't beat Marquez - that 5th fight is all or nothing. If he loses he has to retire and should retire, if he wins and wins well he's proved himself. It will be some achievement to beat Marquez after that KO, psychologically and physically...

If anything that 5th fight will be a measure of how great Pacquiao is, only Duran that I can think of has come back to anywhere near greatness after a KO like that

 

He's never really beaten him in 4 previous fights, how's he going to do it in the 5th when he's older and after suffering a bad knockout like that?

KO's like that usually take something from a fighter, as you pointed out.

It was a devastating KO that he suffered....but he looked incredible before the abrupt ending. We will see if his psyche has been rattled or if he returns a better fighter. It's tough to say h9w Manny will come back.

 

They milked it for what it was worth, now let it go. Problem is Manny has no money so he will keep parading himself out there and probably take a few more L's.

For the life of me i still cannot believe people genuinely think Pac v JMM 3 was a draw or a win for Pac!! It was a one sided boxing lesson FFS!!! Give it up already!!

I dont think Pacman is finished he will be fighting on and on. He has too many leeches bleeding him dry. He will fight on as Joe Louis had to.

I said IF he did it would be some achievement and that's an all or nothing fight. The fact you think he can't do it just shows how great an achievement it would be if he managed to beat Marquez convincingly in the 5th

Duran went on to win the middleweight championship and get Fighter of the Year after beating a much bigger and top fighter in Iran Barkley and knocked him down in the 10th or 11th (can't remember which) - Barkley, the man who KO'd Hearns and beat Hearns twice...Duran was 38 at the time!

It can be done but you have to something pretty special to come back from a KO like that - it will be fascinating to see
