So where does he go now? Fight the European Champion? is it Pulev? Will Matchroom promote him? They could get him on the Froch v Kessler undercard because love or hate the man he'd help sell the card on Box Office.
Pulev destroys Harrison, he did ok in Prizefighter because it was a 3 round distance and he only fought a shot Rogan and a couple of pretty average yanks, he was lucky to even get that final as I thought Lewison won the semi and would have given Harrison problems with his combos and work rate. He'll go for a last pay day because he always does, he'll hang around even after he loses his next fight bleating on about a come back and his dream and how he's sharper than ever and in love with boxing again, then the public will lap up his crap, he'll be back in with someone else as cannon fodder for another opponent hoping to eek out every last penny he can exhaust from the gullible public that for some unexplained reason actually find something they like about Audley. It's beyond me.
You don't quit when destiny is about to be fulfilled. I think Towers would be a decent fight for Audley or Price right now, get that meaningless European belt off him then possibly fight for the European title if it becomes vacant.
Audley Harrison who won Prizefighter on Saturday night was similar to the Audley who beat Danny Williams in the second fight. An animal, Pulev would get stopped before round 7.
Unfortunately for Audley, and decent HW would finish him. I three round slug fest against a load of has beens isn't the start of anything. I'd say fight a few more second-rate heavyweights and retire on a few wins.
He needs to beat someone halfway decent if he is to get anywhere near a world title shot. Maybe aim for Chisora or Robert Helenius.
Helenius might be a good option for him but he's fighting Sprott apparently. Someone shot like a Rahman (in the US) might be a good fight for him to get his confidence back over the distance. If he could beat someone in the top ten like a Banks then obviously a world title shot could happen very quickly. I think Harrison when on top form is slightly above Euro level which means on his day he could "in theory" win a world title.
Audley vs Chisora would actually be a fun fight, Chisora isn't that powerful so would be unlikely to stop him very early and Audley might grow into the fight.
