I love the topic and have loved the thread..

I would just llke to point out... because of my love for Jersey Joe.. that i don't think he's getting his fair shake... I can take a quick glance and see various people with ZERO wins over anybody on this list... The number I see even in the top 55 is like 20 names. That is A LOT of names with no all time great victories on there resumes. The argument of.. oh they have depth to their resume and logevity doesn't really work, because imo, to make at list like this you need a mixed of both.. If you didn't prove yourself against an all time great.. well then you're missing out on truly testing yourself. In the example of SRL.. he certainly doesn't have a long career.. his resume isn't particularly deep considering the amount of fights he had.. But his victories over all time greats is what has him in the lofty tier he enjoys on this list... Victories over Duran, Hearns and Hagler get him that spot.. Yet, somebody who has beaten 2 guys on this list... Charles twice and H. Johnson.. along with probably deserving a victory over the No. 1 or No. 2 HW in history (past his best weight) can't even "crack some people top 200".. That is just ludicris. Oohhh well.. what can you do I suppose.

Too inconsistent to rank Top 100, or even all that close, tbh.

I disagree. He had a lot of losses but he packed in over 100 fights in about 10 years. I don't think he's top 100. But I would say, he's close.

I think Pacquiao is greater. He beat better fighters.

I thought he beat JMM in their first fight. It's a bit of a myth that JMM put on a boxing clinic after the first three rounds. Yes, JMM dominated the majority of rounds and outboxed Manny, but there were still at least 2-3 rounds in there for Manny afterwards and that on top of the 10-6 round makes it very difficult for Marquez to come out on top on the cards.

Manny bested good versions of Barrera, Marquez, and Morales, three fighters who should all be appearing on McGrain's top 100 list. What fighters did Floyd beat who are going to qualify? ...Oscar De La Hoya? Pacquiao has the longevity, he has the ability, but the only sure way of distinguishing a great fighter is by looking at who they beat, and even outside of the three Mexicans you have a long list of solid fighters. Miguel Cotto, Joshua Clottey, Lehlo Ledwaba, Antonio Margarito, Shane Mosley, Chatchai Sasakul, Ricky Hatton, Oscar Larios, etc. He probably also deserved the nod over Timothy Bradley.

Personally, at this point in both of their careers, I don't see any good reason to rate Floyd higher. In fact, looking at these ratings, I'd sooner have Manny in the Arguello/Spinks bracket.
