Reminds me of when Lewis got accused of keeping his title hostage while he decided if he rematched VK.

Vitali hasn't decided what he wants to do yet, is actively pursuing a career in politics and seems to be wasting time.. Why not just give up the belt now and let Wladimir have the chance at being undisputed? Seems illogical to me.

I agree, ihate it when fighters hold on to belts and dont defend.

    FLoyd with his WBC

    Vitali with his WBC

    Peterson with the IBF

What about the fighters who are mandatory? It not realy fair to keep them waiting when they have earned a shot. I know there are circumstances like going to jail but surely they should vacate if that happens.

He's always been bitter at the success of his brother IMO it's the reason he came back from retirement.

Impossible to hold a belt hostage when your mandaotry hasn't even been set yet. Nevermind that the chap has only just fought a few months ago. Honestly I genuinely don't think half the posters on here even think before posting.

The organisations charge sanctioning fees for final eliminators though don't they? So.. You have 2 semi-final eliminators then a final eliminator and you've got more than you would for them sanctioning a title shot. They should just strip Vitali and let 1 and 2 fight it out. Then Haye-Fury eliminator and holder vs winner. Bosh, done.

That's what Arreola vs Stiverne has been about. You know, that one holding everything up as it has been on and then canceled non stop for the past year.

He's been defending the WBC title at least twice per year since beating Peter in his comeback in 2008. That's hardly keeping it hostage.

I think the issue people have is that Vitali promised to make an announcement on his future plans in December, would he retire or would he carry on?

Its now nearly March & still no word :conf

The WBC dont allow for unifications anymore so Wlad wont ever fight for it. He's not even ranked by the WBC.

True. But it's only been a few months. Not like he's taken a whole year out or anything.

    :good

Very sad because he is blocking his own brother to unify.

That's nothing surprising. No belt holder with one organization is ever ranked with the other organizations.

He doesn't have to decide **** until after the Arreola-Stiverne fight. How is it so hard to understand this? Just like Lennox sat on his ass waiting to see if Kirk Johnson could beat Vitali :rofl:patsch

Arreola-Stieverne just got postponed again so it will be a while. Deal with it.
