Is not impressive. It is full of holes. I do not see how anyone can place him above Floyd in terms of Legacy or Resume.

You make a valid point about how his impact in the WW division was immediate.

I'm confused to how he exceeded your expectations against marg?

If you asked me a prior to his win over Cotto how he would do against Margarito, I would have dismissed the thought of him fighting a person with such huge physical advantages. In fact most people did. Then when the fight was finally made and I was aware of what Pacquiao can do at welterweight, but I only expected him to outbox Margarito to a safe decision. Instead he went to war with him and brutalised him in a career ending fashion. That's something I never expected him to do. I didn't think he had the power or the chin to stand up to him the way he did.

It was good but not great: Margarito, Cotto and Clottey are not great wins. But Pacquiao's run is better than maybe 99 percent of WWeights right now. Only Floyd and Marquez have something similar.Moving from featherweight to welter weight. But Pac has to fight a young hungry lion in their prime with no catch weight restrictions, that's what he has to do now.He has nothing to lose anyway it's what Pacquiao needs to do and add to his resume.

But knowing Bob Arum it's so frustrating why they keep picking old dudes.

cause he fought them ALL Welterweights. (well except for that very talented one he's supposed to be scared of.)

and look at the threads here before WW Pac (around 07, you'll get **** on if you ever thought of Pac fighting above 130.

Are you really talking about fight night weights? Do you watch boxing much? It's hard not to notice most guys are 2 divisions up fight night. You realize that no welter is a welter fight night?

Yes and that's why people need to stop acting like Pac was some 122 lb'er fighting at 147 because he ****ing wasn't.

The DLH win speaks for itself. You have to ask yourself how many other fighters could make the same move up and dominate him in such fashion even in his drained state.

Margarito was a great exhibition. The size difference made it a huge risk for Manny. The man was still a relentless pressure fighter. The gap in skill was huge, and it showed. Not a great win but a good one.

Cotto, even at his worst, is still a very good fighter. Pacquiao picked him apart and made it obvious he was the better man that night. People weren't sure he could take a proper welterweight punch until then. Neutralized his jab the way not even Mayweather could, constantly circled, mixed up his right and left hand attacks, etc.

Clottey was a solid, proven welterweight, and the fight wasn't even competitive. Not a memorable fight but an impressive showing. I'm not in the camp that says it was fixed, but I wouldn't be shocked.

Mosley was shot, Manny dropping him is the only real impressive thing about it. The way Shane turned him showed that lateral movement could still take away Manny's angle, it's when I started giving Marquez a shot.

Bradley was a solid fighter, the most accomplished at 140, he had already proved that he could hang at 147 without losing his physical capabilities, and Manny won lazily but easily. Bradley was exactly the type of fighter people thought Manny couldn't hang with; upper body movement, good and fast straight right hand, proper foot work, a good jab, crafty hand speed, good inside fighter. It didn't matter. Manny was just better.

Manny's welterweight run was not historically among the very best, but in the context of his weight-jumping, it's quite impressive. People before the De La Hoya fight were ready to pay homage to what people considered an already great career at the lower weights before watching Manny go down into a blaze of glory. Instead, he stacked his resume with previously unthinkable feats. A former flyweight made himself the man at welterweight, with the only other man to challenge his status being Floyd Mayweather, an all time great fighter with an equally historic career. Until, of course, Juan Manuel Marquez shocked the world and further cemented his own greatness by ending Pac's reign. Definitely not a run to sneer at.

A prime (or at the very least near-prime) Barrera is the best single win between them.

Both fighters have a host of old or shopworn opponents on their resume among their best wins. Those "holes" appear just as easily on Floyd's resume and virtually every ATG.

When the dust settles and the media stop their parade history will not look kindly on the later career of Manny Pacquiao.

No **** sherlock , but he was clearly a small fighter at the weight, and he still is.

Let me run a comparison for you. Your BF Floyd was at WW as early as 2005 (8 years now) - during that time, an undefeated Cotto, a younger Mosley, Margarito, Paul Williams and Pacquiao were all active in the division. Floyd fought none of them.

Pacquiao moved up from 135 (1 fight at the weight ) to 147, and immediately fought Oscar and went on to beat Hatton and Cotto - all within a span of 2 years. Within the next year he beat Clottey and Margarito. What Pac did just by jumping up and demolishing those guys rivals anything your boy did at the weight.

You wanna criticize his ww run when he's only been there since 2009 and spent his entire career at featherweight and the lower weight classes. He fought EVERYBODY at the weight, he's ducked nobody. Trying to crticize what hes done at the weight just shines a light on how special it is -- and frankly makes Floyd's run look like an embarassment.
