Who should he fight next? At his age he needs a quality year likr Jennings 2012. I truly believe he has a title in his future with the right set up of his next 4 or 5 fights. He can sellout seats in Delaware no doubt. Possibly on ESPN or NBC for a couple of fights might lead to an HBO type payday. Who do think his next few opponents should be if anyone would fight him? I wish the Heavyweight tournament here in the states could drop a fighter and he could get a spot or even line him up for a six rounder while fighters rest 30 minutes for the final. I really believe in this guy and he has came back from a lot of adversity outside the ring. Personally I would like to see a Tony Grano match in any format to get this started. I don't think bronchitis would stop this man two weeks out, cause I don't see him needing more than two rounds for a Grano type match. Let me know what you guys think. We need to support a real fighter that fights with heart and with killer instincts. He also needs the money not the fame unlike most soft boxers today. Tell me you wouldn't pay to see him and a Luis Ortiz or Abdusalamov rip heads off them?
Franklin Lawrence or Tony Thompson (both near his age) would make for interesting fights, or even someone like Cedric Boswell. Mansour cannot leave the USA to fight in Europe because he's on parole.
True about the parole issue. He really needs some great management because of this. He recently tok out Dominique Alexander in one round KO, but I haven't heard anything since. Richard Carmack and Kimbo on the same night on FNF would be interesting like when Foreman fought 5 guys in one night......atleast make the sport more interesting. These FNF fights are killing me except for the Holt/Peterson fight. We need action, power, and KO's not Cory Spinks type swatting flies and running out of drive to be in there. Teddy Atlas breaking down the best angle at which to cut down a tree just don't get my intrest after waiting all week to see guys rip each other apart. Franklin Lawrence has been setting back waiting to be hand picked by K2, so he can get paid once and take a beating needs to step up and meet Mansour to see if he is really deserving of a payday. But, as most are I believe he is all talk and no walk. What has he or Fres Oquendo done to get a shot at any belt. Heck, fight each other if you're scared of Mansour beating you on live TV.
In terms of talent, Amir Mansour is the best outside of the Klits.. All this man needs is an opportunity to showcase his talents on TV because i **** you not, he's notch above these fake ass HW contenders.. Amir Masour has it.. I laugh at these foos who dismiss Mansour based on his age etc etc.. it's a ****in stupid way to judge a fighter. Anybody who knows boxing would realize that Mansour is very very good.
I agree Ivy League. But, who would you like to see him fight next? If we can show our intrest in him is shared with the public a network will make happen. People would definitely tune in just to see him fight and hopefully more than one fight. Who could make this entertaining and still take the ass whipping Amir will give. Wish I had the money to help push Amir on TV and really schedule a few fights that would get him to the top, because like you said nobody out there has his power or talent so his fights must be chosen carefully or nobody will fight him and just hide across the pond waiting for him to retire.
Mansour has been the best HW in the US penal system for years. Now he is out and ready to destroy the Klitschkos.
The only heavyweights who could beat Mansour are the Klits or Haye. Mansour is too strong, too fast, and defensively gifted. He does need to play his cards right with his next few fights to get a top 10 type fight. Unfortunately it won't come down to his talent, it will come down to his management. Would be great for him to sign with a big name manager. and for those of you who are ragging on Amir Mansour... you've just never seen this guy fight. He does F*cking backflips after he KO's people.... literally.
He just got back out. He should be busy from now on and fight at least every 60 days. Names like Maddalone, McCall, Mo Harris, Rossy, T. Walker, Darnell Wilson, Monte Barret, Byarm, Eugene Hill, Tupou, Gavern, Abell, Steve Collins, Mollo, should be next. He should take at least a couple of fights against these competition. Then he should look for bigger gatekeepers and ranked fighters like Toney, Tua, Botha, Oquendo, Grano, Holyfield, KJ, F. Lawrence, J. Estrada, Rahman, T. Hammer, M. Scott, S. Mitchel or J. Hanks. He should take at least a couple of fights against these competition as well. If he manages to get those 4 fights in a row and suceed he will be right in the middle of the title mix by the end of the year. One thing is certain, he should not continue to engage tomato cans like Alexander, it won't help him at all. My 2 cents: April - Barret or Maddalone June - Rossy or T.
