Trying to destroy the reputation of the man to save your idol who is very much frightened of him is not gonna happen. Just accept and get over with it!

I did see the Garcia fight, Marg looked rusty. What Marg brings is a great chin, workrate, pressure and size. What was missing that night? Of course he couldn't corner Pac as easy as most of his other opponents, but not for the lack of trying.

    Gamache's record is pretty good.

55-4 with 38 kos? winning rounds against JCC? Started his career at 140?

Let's compare that to Pac's record of 54-5 and 2 with 38 kos.
Of course Pac faced better opposition, but he started at 105. Gamache's frame was of a 140 lb fighter, and that 20 pounds he gave up to a crude Gatti ended his career.

Pac fighting a guy 20 lbs heavier is a threat to his health.

By that Logic, Mayweather risked his own health by taking on Baldomir.

I don't recall Gatti Gamache having a catchweight nor do I recall Gatti being weight drained...

I'm not impressed with the margarito win. marg was cherry picked when Paul Williams was still running strong and eagerly available.

He did, except Baldomir can't punch hard. Gatti is a true puncher, and at times Margarito could stop first rate opposition (knocking out Sergio Martinez, Cintron, and Cotto, to name a few, though the power is suspect). If Baldomir could move or punch, it would have been a risk.

No ****, and margarito heavily outweighed Pac and dwarfed him in height and and reach and well. How much did Baldomir outweigh Floyd? And how ****ing dangerous is baldomir, btw?

and for what it's worth, Margarito was a career welterweight. Every pound above 147 favored him. His run at 154 was a joke - he shouldn't have been drained at 151, because he couldn't seriously hope to campaign at 154.

If I recall correctly, didn't Ortiz walk into the ring weighing 167lbs when he fought Floyd?

yes, and that was actually a risky fight for Floyd, with a heavy handed young southpaw. Too bad Ortiz crumbled mentally, robbing us of the stretch of seeing Floyd turn it up.
