Cards don't matter when the boxer is out cold like Lewis was against McCall or Rahman. Cards matter when the fight is stopped because of injury.
Lewis must be a tough mother****er to be out cold against McCall and back on his feet at the count of 6. Going by your logic (loss caused by being punched in the face = injury), then Lewis only lost to McCall and Rahman by injury too. If cards matter when a fight is stopped by injury - then as the result was TKO6 - obviously this fight wasn't stopped by injury. Cards only matter in a TKO if the loser is looking for something, anything, out of the fight. Something to deny the official result. Something to show that, hey, despite getting battered to a pulp, something, something went their way.

I thought there might be one guy on that list that I could defend in someway but the ones I have dealt with one here . . . it makes sense.:bart
I think it's wrong to **** on Lennox for losing to McCall and Rahman, .. the rest of his career is the primary focus. has well as ducking the Vitali rematch in the very end :conf
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to interview former lineal champ Lennox Lewis in his home in London England. Q: Why didn't you rematch Vitali like you promised even though you stood to make a ton of money doing so? A: First I was getting my ass kicked and only won because of a lucky punch that opened a cut that stopped the fight. Second, my mommy told me not to fight again. Me: Thank you very much for your candor and honesty. Lewis: You're welcome.
If I get hit by a baseball bat in the eye, and get knocked out - am I injured? Not according to Vitaly fans in this thread. If it hits me in the eye, nose and mouth and I'm conscious but require stitches. Only then am I injured. (Or if I tear my rotator cuff trying to grab the bat of course).
