Margarito or Baldomir? Who had the better single win at this point in time?

Exactly! The only people that defend Mayweather not going for a Canelo fight after May 4th are dick riders.

Most boxing fans would want to see Mayweather-Canelo, and who are the only people to defend Mayweather not being on board for that? :yep

Who out there is a bigger threat than Canelo and why is'nt Mayweather fighting him????

Of course Margarito was more of a threat. Baldomir had some skill, but it was nowhere near Mayweather's skill and even Baldomir knew that.

Not being able to beat Mayweather with just skill, what did Baldomir have to trouble Mayweather???

    Speed? NO!
    Quickness? NO!
    POWER? NO!
    Workrate? NO!

Baldomir was just an average Welter in size.

Since Baldomir did'nt possess any of the attributes I mentioned, how was he going to go about beating Mayweather?????

He was'nt, which is my point.

Margarito had size, workrate, and one of the best if not the best chin in the business.
Margarito had lots of pressure and workrate and could take a punch to go along with it. These are the attributes needed to have a chance when you're not as skilled and are not as fast or quick than your opponent.
Baldomir did'nt even have those, so he had zero chance.

It doesn't matter who had the better win . It matters who was the better, more challenging opponent. No offence to Baldomir, but he was insanely average. Margarito was the far more threatening opponent.

We all know how this room works. If Floyd hads fought Margarito then everyone would be asking, why didn't Floyd fight the Lineal Title Holder in Baldomir. Floyd fought Gatti because Gatti had just won the title by beating Jesse James Lejia. Now if Lejia had won the title and getten a fight with Floyd, then everyone would be asking why didn't Floyd fight Gatti? I remember when Brian Kenney (formerly of ESPN) called Floyd out for not fighting the Champ at 140lbs in Hatton. The next day on all the forums...."Floyd is ducking Hatton". Prior to their fight (FMJ vs Hatton) no-one said anything about their fight being at 147lbs because Floyd had just fought Oscar at 154lbs so it's reasonable for them to AGREE on 147bs instead of requesting a fighter go from a fight at 154lbs all the way down to 140lbs....THAT MAKES NO SENSE (well, to anyone with a rational thought process). Then after the fight...."Why Floyd fight Hatton at 147lbs?"

There is only one other man who is hated-on as much as Floyd and that's Obama. Hmmmm I wonder what they have in common?:think

  10. Margarito was a better fighter than Baldomir, anyone with half a brain knows this. Yes Floyd avoided Margarito, just like everybody else did at the time.

Margarita's one and only biggest accomplishment is Cotto....which has a huge asterisks.....before scandal he was a walking punching bad who if you got tired would wear you out....after scandal he was just a walking punching bag....bottom line period.

So are we banking on Floyd to tire and not be able to dodge slip and duck out of the way of Margarito?!?!?!?!? At that point in Floyd's career?

This fight plays out the same way it did with Baldo with Floyd easily slipping dodging and pot shotting to a 12 round snooze fest!!!

News flash Floyd didnt hurt Baldo not one time he still kept comming...it didnt matter cus he couldnt catch him, cut the ring off, or even jab or anything closing....Margarito does none of these either.

He has or had just as much chance as Baldo....the fukk is Margarito any more dangerous.

Yes of the two H2H i would pick Margo...but both of them fighting against Floyd is the EXACT same boring fight.

baldomir's win over judah for the lineal champ at 147 was a remarkable feat given how limited baldomir was
