That's pretty good one filling after three years, I can't see foster not getting hit and hit hard quite a few times , I think Dempsey would have the better chin and be faster
if foster lands his upperct and lifts dempseys chin to land his left hook its over with.a better fight would be jerry quarry v foster....that'd be a classic
That would be a stoppage win for quarry, foster was a top lightheavyweight but he was below world level as a heavyweight
Foster just didn`t have `it` against heavies...Even with Dempsey being a `smallish` heavy. I think Dempsey could shake off Foster`s power shots wher as I don`t think Foster could take Demspey`s thunder. Dempsey, by 5th rd KO. Foster lands some bombs, but not enough to deter the Manassa Mauler !
Voted Foster just to even things out a bit.:yep Jack would quite possibly survive the jabs and rights that Foster would land to eventually wear him down and take him out. But make no mistake about it, it could go the other way as well. It's actually likely that Dempsey never faced such a good puncher as Foster. Oh, Firpo probably had more raw power, but not a tenth of his precision and timing, and he nearly took Jack out. Tunney probably had similar precision and timing as Foster, but think it's doubtful that he had the same power, and he beat Jack's face like a drum. And Dempsey would be walking into those shots, with hands held low, before he would land his own. Let's not forget that it took him four rounds to get to Carpentier and during that time Carpentier managed to rock him with a right or two. In the end I don't think Foster KO's prime Dempsey and I think Jack would get to him some time over 15 rds. Foster lacked HW strength and durability and he was no defensive master either. Once his perimeter was breached he was there for the taking, especially for HWs. But expect him to land some hard, hard blows on Dempsey, rock him and possibly floor him.
