Personally, I'd give the edge slightly to Rigondeaux. His footwork, timing, defense, punches thrown at angles, extreme accuracy and also the variety in the punches is very impressive. Not that Donaire doesn't have any of that of course. Don't think it'll be enough for Rigondeaux to win the fight given Donaire's size and (probable) power advantage, but that's another matter. If you think Donaire's more skilled, make a case.
Donaire's boxing skills are vastly underrated just because he scores a lot of KO's. His lateral movement is far better than Rigondeaux who looks like he's wearing concrete shoes at times.
I think Donaire is better tested and has a better chin. Rigondeux is more skilled technically and it's not really even close but technically skilled in the amateurs doesn't mean you know how to do stuff in the pros when you get hurt etc. Knowing when to hold, how to punch during the break, how to bend little rules, how to use veteran tactics the pros use can make all the difference.
Watch some Rigos amateur fights, hes one of the best movers ive ever seen. I think he just likes to stand his ground more in pros to get better power to his counters. Honestly if Rigo gets on his bike I think pretty much noone can catch him.
My thoughts exactly. The key to this fight is that Donaire's greatest strength, his power, lines up with Rigo's biggest weakness, his chin. My fear is that Donaire falls in love with that power and reduces his output.
