No, you're missing the point. You're holding onto the opinion of Blob Rafael, when Canelo has made no such statements guaranteeing Trout as his opponent in June. That *** of a ginger is gonna **** his fans out of a true 154lb division fight. He's hell bent on it.

Wether we like it or not Canelo is already a big draw. Wether you understand thatFloyd needs Canelo for this fight due to the opponent Floyd picked is another thing. Canelo, at this point, doesn't need Floyd and muchless will he need him as he becomes the next big thing in boxing. Canelo knows this thus him putting ultimatums like a boss. But I still think he is a ***** that won't fight Trout and will end up fighting the likes of another 140'er.

Floyd should be fighting the winner of the fight, nobody should be getting any guarantees unless they actually win.

Right on all counts. Plus, a scenario in which the winner of the undercard gets a shot at the big dog would generate a lot of interest/drama.

It makes so much sense that there's no way it will happen.

People keep saying this. But let's see what his first Pay-per-view headline does against Alfredo Angulo or knowing Canelo, Andre Berto.

Are there any other prospects or less famous ones that you'd pay to see? I get your point, but in my estimate, if a Canelo vs Trout fight headlined a card on its own, I don't see it doing more than 300k max. If Cotto vs. Margarito got 600k and Maravilla vs Chavez Jr got 600k, I'd be surprised if Canelo vs Trout gets half that. You know GBP has some pretty big upcoming fights for May. They could easily move one or two over to May 4 to replace Canelo. I said it before, but they gave this low 20's kid millions already and made him the next icon without beating named fighters. He's now showin his ass. Broner may be a brat, but he still says that he'll do what GBP and Al Haymon tell him to do.

Put Trout vs. Lara in place of Canelo vs. Trout then. Those 2 guys I'm sure are still hungry and would be grateful for the opportunity.

    Like a boss.

    your move mayweather.

although without a guarantee I still think it would be in canelos best interest to have a double header with trout, ko him or look spectacular and force a showdown if may doesnt want it who gives a **** there is always Martinez at 154. Canelo would be expose yet again to American fans and if looks spectacular his stock would raise.

imo canelo needs to fight trout in a double header to benefit career, he's not huge yet and with moves like this his exposure won't be as huge
