Coupled with the cherrypicking, his zero is attributed to the way he goes about who he challenges. I give him credit for being undefeated but I think he orchestrated the undefeated record by handpicking and not taking on the tough challenges. Did he not avoid Pacman?
I knew the night Guerrero won that Mayweather would pick him to fight. Guerrero edges his fights with decisions even when he has fought mediocre guys- he is not a big puncher. I wish I could go back and find my posts from that night, because I said it on that night. This is who Floyd will fight next. And I am not brilliant, it is just obvious the fighters he fights and challenges. Floyd will win a UD or late round knockout. And yes I do believe if Floyd would have looked for the top competition in his career and superfights, he would have one or two losses but would have comeback in his career and proved that he was a fighter and could win title after a loss. And Floyd will not fight Canelo. That might mean he loses his undefeated record. After Guerrero, he might fight Garcia if Garcia beats Zab.. Getting Garcia to move up in weight. Sure he win that fight. A guys stay undefeated picking fights like that. I give him credit for knowing how to pick the fights at the right time, and I give him credit for being good enough to beat these guys when many guys would not be able to, but he has still avoided the real superfights. It is hard to rank him ATG.

I didn't comment on the second part as much then. I knew it looked familiar.

    Also-

Cuevas was trash dude. So it's ok for Hearns to fight the #1 contenders and get knocked out by a fighter like Barkley but if Floyd does it he is handpicking

like this one. I totally missed it. You read what Duranimal said about me trolling on Duran threads when I commented the last one about had Duran retired after Dejesus 3.. That is original of you. I use what I know about fighters, and I think I base my comments on facts as well as anyone on the boxing forum here. I have been into boxing for years and I know when a guys avoids big fights. And to give Duran credit, he fought everyone he could. Floyd has not.
Cuevas was trash? I would make a smiley face on this one like you put after all the comments. If Cuevas were around now Floyd would avoid him and fight Randy Shields. Floyd would not fight Harold Weston.
Floyd has not fought the guys Hearns did and does not have the legacy. Mentioning Barkley or saying Cuevas is trash does not eliminate the fact Floyd is handpicking guys like Ortiz and Guerrero instead of fighting Pacman. Hearns fought his superfights in Vegas and lost, but came to fight. Floyd has not.

How many A level fighters has he beaten that weren't over the hill. Castillo and Coralles were not A level fighters.

Why would he fight Pacquiao? He's still asleep thanks to marquez.

Yes Cuevas was trash. Beating up cab driving Espada and Randy Shields who was OK as a contender does nothing for Cuevas status.

Then Hearns tried to cherrypick Barkley and got his paper title taken away  Fat, drunk Duran was able to beat Barkley for god sakes. Hearns finally started fighting guys his own size and started losing. Floyd's never lost and he's been at a size disadvantage since his 135 lb days.

Mayweather's 0 is neither meaningless nor as significant as it could be. A lot of big fights didn't get made and a lot of questions were never answered.

He gets more respect than Joke Al or Ottke, but he'll never be revered like the fighters who provided the fans with epic bouts.

100 percent serious. I will explain. When a guy like Hearns or Duran or Leonard fight the best there are, then you know where to rank them because they put themselves on the line and tested themselves against the best guys skillwise who also were rated ATG. But if a guy like Floyd does not fight the best, how do we rank him? If he beat Manny we know he beat a great and proved he was at that high level. If he lost then we know he was not at that level. But didnt fight him, but he fought Cotto who lost 2 times previous in onesided fights. Margarito beat Cotto, Manny beat Cotto. How do we know where to rank Mayweather on that, or the Delahoya win when Oscar was older? Fighting the other best fights is how we rank greats. I have always said what make a great fighter to me is fighting and beating other great fighters.

Well by that logic Pac barely got by marquez then KTFO by him and Floyd beat Marquez easily.

    Floyd>Marquez>Pacquiao

He had the chance to fight Manny as early as 2009. He didn't. If he waits until 2012 or 2013 and Manny keeps fighting, Manny will eventually lose and he did. Manny was fighting top competition when Floyd was fighting Ortiz and an old Mosley.

Floyd would have ducked the trash you call Cuevas. Floyd ducks everyone. If Cuevas is trash, the facts are he fought who he could and now we know how to rank him. With Floyd, he does not fight the best, so how do we rank him?
About Hearns losing to guys his size. As a matter of fact if you look up boxing statistics and read a little of the magazines and books about it, you will see that Hearns biggest and easiest wins were against guys his height. Shuler and Hill both on Olympic teams and even Andrew Maynard were his height or taller. Hill was Hearns size and had a reach of 77 inches and Hearns 78. Hearns outboxed him easily. Murray Sutherland was near Hearns size, and fought at 175 against Spinks, and Tommy beat him easily at 160 on 1983. Fred Hutchings was Tommy's height. Even Nate Miller who stopped Orlin Norris and was 6-2 1/2, Tommy outboxed in 1999.

That was Floyd's best win in his career, but still he handpicked Marquez who was a slower counterpuncher to Floyd's best. But a good win and Marquez couldn't do much.
And if you read what I said in my other posts. I said I think Floyd had the skils to beat Manny or anyone. It is his heart and wanting to fight the best when he could of and didn't which hurts his legacy. I even said on many occasions that Floyd at 135 outboxes Duran just on his style same with Whitaker. But I also stated I don't think he would have gone into the ring against a fighter like Duran who fights anyone and who is fearless. A big step to beating a great like Duran is to actually get in the ring with them, or get in the ring with Hearns or Leonard. Floyd had skills, but to excuse everything and say he could have fought Manny or fought the best at the same time does not make much sense because we all know he handpicked, and it is not fair to the greats who fought everyone in their time to rank him with them. Floyd does not deserve to be ranked very high on the ATG list.

 Floyd wouldn't have ducked Cuevas because Cuevas wasn't even a top 2 or 3 welterweight. He was bottom barrell when you have guys like Duran, Hearns, Leonard, Benitez around and you know it.

Floyd had the chance to fight Pacquiao in 2009-2010 and Pac's promoter cancelled negotiations. Floyd tried making the fight and Arum said no.

    You're a ****ing idiot.

I have absolutely no doubt about that.

Hearns went from welterweight to light heavyweight.
He fought the best there was, any time, any where, at any weight.

The man truly did not give a ****.

He was the absolute, polar opposite of Floyd.

If he had the Floyd attitude, he never, ever would have fought Leonard because there would have been some ridiculous clause in the contract he didn't agree to.
Steward agreed the contract with Leonards guys in about two hours according to an interview that's kicking around.
    They just wanted to fight.

Is Floyd's record impressive? Yep. It's excellent.
Is Floyd a great technician? Yep, one of the best I've seen.

Has Floyd given us great fights, or pushed himself to his limits and\or beyond them? No. Not even close.

Give me a Hearns, who maniacally decided that rather than outboxing a brute like Hagler, (he may have, he had the reach and ability to do so), he'd go balls to the wall with a man with a concrete head to get some respect any day of the week.

    Why?

Because with Floyd that fight would never have got made.
