Baldi or was one of the weakest welter weight champs ever ..And he held a lineal title that just goes to show you how overrated that title is ..It's never equated to the best in any division and Baldi was proof of that .

I don't think the focus was on Floyd it was the selection of his opponents ..

No one has fought as many #1 or #2 guys since Delahoya in the 90s.

You and FMJ related? Seems like you both want things your way without any variation before committing to something.

Anyhow, you do know that Baldomir was brought in for the Judah fight so that Judah could look good prior to his fight with FMJ, right? It was supposed to be an easy fight for Judah, making his fight with FMJ, that much more lucrative. By that I mean that Judah was supposed to beat Baldomir easily, which in turn would make the casual fan think that Judah was now some sort of beast who would give FMJ a great challenge. It backfired since the featherfisted journeyman didn't follow the script.

Now, before Baldomir even appeared on the scene, Margarito, in the eyes of many (ESPN, HBO, and other sites), was the real threat to FMJ. Margarito was on record saying several times that he wanted to fight FMJ, and FMJ always declined. Not once did I ever read that FMJ said he'd take the fight. Not once. Nothing but excuses.

Now you and others have claimed that FMJ would have wiped the floor with Margarito, and here is what makes me shake my head in disbelief. If FMJ was this superior fighter and would have been able to do that, why didn't he sign to make that fight? He could have made 8 million for the Margarito fight and another 8 or 10 for the Baldomir fight. That is a huge chunk of change to turn down. But I guess FMJ wasn't as confident as some of you guys.

And, yes, Margarito did lose to Paul Williams, but that may happen when you take on all comers and don't duck people. I have more respect for a fighter who would rather fight a dangerous fighter than find excuses and try and justify why he is ducking a certain fighter.

On another note, he was fighting Santos (a Puerto Rican) in Puerto Rico and was in a close fight (I personally had Margarito up by a point or two prior to the stoppage). He wasn't knocked out or outclassed. He was cut due to a headbutt and the bout was stopped. Lo and behold, it turns out the Puerto Rican was up in the fight at the time of the stoppage. I do love how you forgot to mention that, though.

Before I leave you to dwell on my response, I'm curious to know why you don't find any issue with FMJ fighting Judah, who had lost his previous fight to Baldomir, yet couldn't find the time to fight Margarito during that time? Ahhh, I already know the answer. Thanks for playing the game, though!! :hi:

Yeah, FMJ kept winning alright. He fought 3 women and a security guard during that time. Way to pad your record, FMJ!!!!

Yeah, bro, I'm mad. I'm mad that FMJ has no balls and always seeks the path of least resistance. He robbed us of many great fights and could have shut the naysayers (me included) up by taking those fight, but he didn't. He only gave the naysayers more ammunition to ridicule him when he proclaims to be one of the G.O.A.T. fighters. He will forever be remembered as the loudmouth who ducked fighters. It's something that he and his fans are going to have to deal with for eternity.

By the way, I heard that his new Showtime contract specifically states that he is not to be asked about fighting PacMan cause it scares him.
