Low test is a common sign of long term abusers. Basically your body stops producing the hormone naturally because of the presence of artificial hormones in the blood. You have to take these tests with a pinch of salt though.

So, Overeem's master plan was to get his test levels down so low he could get on the TRT bandwagon in time for his title fight after he beat Bigfoot?

Only problem was no one told Bigfoot he was meant to lose.

No. His plan was just to test clean because he had to. His nuts will be like baron little raisins due to the ridiculous amounts of Testosterone his system has had in it ever since he moved up from LHW. I think TRT should be outlawed in any situation where PEDS are not allowed. But if that isn't going to happen I'd love to see a clause where if you have ever been busted for PEDS you can never get a TRT certificate. Maybe these guys would really think twice about juicing in the first place if that was the case. Because if you got caught your whole career will be spent fighting with very little test.

The ****'s gonna hit the fan soon with this TRT stuff, people are quite clearly abusing the system.

His low test serum levels are likely the result from long term steroid use with no time off, or poorly planned cycles that do not adequately cover the post cycle recovery part. Exogenous (synthetic) anabolics and androgens suppress your endogenous (natural)production. Your body has a normal set point for the amount of testosterone is produces naturally, when you introduce testosterone from outside the body, it cannot tell the difference. In the simplest terms, your body says "i already have enough test" and your gonads shut down. Even physiological doses (100 mg per weekish) will eventually cause shut down of your natural production. Performance enhancing doses (500mg-2g per weekish) cause the shutdown quicker. Suppression is basically a function of duration and dosage.

He likely was on long term and came off to test clean. His endogenous test production would be suppressed, even with counter measures used for recovery of his test levels, there would be a lag time between the time he came off with zero natty test in his system, to where his recovery protocol would stimulate his production to get even into the low-normal range. The TRT path is now open due to his results. Which is a common trick of the trade in athletics (mainly BB, PL, combat sports) to allow a guy to stay on test year round at physiological levels.....and then continue to cycle with no worries of post cycle crashes, and the legal script to protect him and his rep.
