I know Price cant take a punch! When you get knocked out in the amateurs (more than once) it means you cant take a punch! It is just simple! When Price steps it up again he will get knocked out again! If it was the first tim ePrice got knocked out I would say it was just bad luck but he got knocked out more than one time.... So I have to say he just cant take a punche. But we will see if he can find a way to deal with it:bbb

I hope his next fight will be against Povetkin, I am, as most Wlad fans, not happy with Pianeta, but Wlad is definately not 'ducking'.

Truly idiotic statement given the number of boxers Ko'd in their careers yet still have success (Manny Pac just one example, ko'd twice early in his pro career, got spaked by JMM yet has took plenty of shots inbetween to prove he can take a punch)

It is something different if you get knocked out serveral times as an amateur (and he was ot like 18 or 19) or as an pro!
I know what I am talking abou when you get knocked out in the amateurs it mostyl means nothing good! Because it is more likely that you get knocked out as a pro than as a amateur! in fact knock outs are pretty rare in the amateurs! Because of the gloves and of the Headgear!

I am afraid that Sauerland wont let Povetkin fight on RTL.

David Tua got sparked out in an amateur bout and so have other pro boxers yet have a decent career. Price has time yet to show whether or not he can take a punch and i do not see how you can be so conclusive and dismissive this early in his career. Wlad of all people has honed his skills so whats to say Price cant? Therefore he wont get knocked out each time he steps up will he.

I dont see anything World Class in Price... he has good power but what more? But all the british people thought he would be the next real deal or something like that?
And lets be honest right now it does not seem like he could be a great champion one day! But maybe he can prove people wrong but right now I dont think so! Also he is like 30 now? So not much time to change his style...
MAybe thats why he was a amateur for such a long time... because of his suspect chin.

Im not sold on price by any means and certainly wasnt getting carried away with the hype, his cv hadnt provided him with any real contenders to test him up until Thompson. My point is that i dont see how you can say he will be knocked out whenever he steps up just as the hype saying he was the one to KO Wlad was unjustified. He has time still to get to a decent level, maybe title holder if/when Wlad retires, he might not but just as i wont big him up yet, i wont knock him down.

Part of the hype was the british media, just as American media do, any Heavyweight prospect who starts out really well is touted as the next big thing because people are desperate for the Klits to be challenged and the talent pool is so shallow.

Price is 30, his chin won't get any better unless his neck suddenly becomes a stiff 20 inch.

    Tua was 18-19
Tyson also got KO´d as an amateur by a 26 year old bum, but Tyson was 16 then.

Ironically Vitali has been stopped in the ams numerous times, Wlad was in 145 am fights never! knocked down.

Wow didnt know that about Vit, how peculiar at pro level their fortunes reversed!
Im not saying Price has a solid chin or cant take a shot, just need more evidence from his pro fights for me to decide. Someone like Chisora would have been a better test than Thompson i think.

Price was dropped by a weak slap and someone is still trying to defend that huh? Wladimir has an iron chin compared to Price lol. Price has no future in top level of boxing with that kind of punch resistance.

It is disgraceful for Wladimir to take on Piano as next opponent. I hope they will make big financial losses since nobody cares and the heavy weight scene would get normalized by best fighters getting best changes and fair contracts.

But stoppage in an amateur fight does not always mean the guy got knocked out. Referees in amateur fights call a halt much earlier than the professional referees for example. Also many fights get stopped when you have your opponent outscored by 15 or 20 points or when the referee is thinking you get outclassed. I have to admit i do not know the circumstances of Price´s stoppages. Do you ?
