Most people will agree that the outcomes of both Bradley-Provodnikov and Klitschko-Pianeta are very predictable. Both are mismatches between very talented boxers and ordinary opponents.

But the situations that led to these matchups are very different.

Wladimir Klitschko and his management have had several heavyweights turn down the offer of a voluntary title shot. Sauerland's fighters like Pulev and Helenius were unwilling. Povetkin has pulled out twice in the past and is always a big risk to do so again. Fury's management said "no" when sent a contract. Solis was originally chosen, but Don King pulled the plug on it. Others like Fres Oquendo are willing but not really qualified.

So Pianeta is probably the best of who is willing and available. Jennings might be a better fighter than Pianeta or about as good, but he's unknown in Europe, so that only made sense if it were on HBO.

The Bradley-Prodovnikov situation is very different. There were many better fighters than Provodnikov available and willing, but Bradley chose someone who has limited skills and athleticism who would make him look very good.

So people who bash Wladimir Klitschko for fighting Pianeta yet find Bradley-Prodovnikov acceptable are not being fair and are going by a double standard.

So even though it's just as bad of a mismatch, Klitschko-Pianeta is better than Bradley-Prodovnikov because Pianeta was probable the best option Wlad had all things considered, while Bradley had many better options than Prodovnikov to choose from.

Yeah agreed. Klitschko-Pianeta really isn't that bad of a fight all things considered.

No, Prodovnikov isn't very good. His BoxRec rating of #24 at 140 seems about right. And to make it even worse, Bradley has him moving up to 147 for this fight.

I agree Wilder is very good and will be heavyweight champion someday, but his management isn't going to put him in with Wlad at this point.

So he was never an option for the upcoming fight.

LOOOOOOOOOOL Scott is no threat for Wladimir! Tell me how will Scott outbox a fighter like Wladimir? Fury is close to a mandatory position so he wont fight Wladimir right no (he gets a lot more money as mandatory). So please stop talking crap like this!

  13. It is a better fight cause we will see what real boxing is .. Wladimir is besides Iron Mika the GOAT, a living legend .. in 40, 50 years we will remember this prodigy!

Thats right, one is a long term, unified champion who has faced several weak opponents in a row. The other just moved up a division to face one of the top p4p talents & fighter of the decade.

Because said offer is ****, K2 offer a tiny % of the purse & attach unprecedented options to their contracts. If they didnt offer peanuts & didnt want to be modern-day slavemasters they would be able to get better opponents. Simple.

You cannot say that the quality of recent opponents for Wlad is not K2 responsibilty because it is.

 You completely ignore the whole GBP vs TR whilst crying about Sauerland & K2 being unwilling to work together. A completely unbalanced post from a proven racist & all-round piece of ****.

So you chose to defend yet another terrible mismatch by comparing to another, more competitive fight? Laughable as always.

**** off back to castefootball McKenzie. We all know why your defending this fight & as usual its got nothing to do with boxing & everything to do with race. I just had a look on your racist forum & yep, you are happy Wlad is fighting a white guy & not another *****. You really are an absolute disgrace.
