I don't see this fight making $40 million, but if it does he should surely get $20 million of it.

Of course he did, and the opening of your next sentence should tell you exactly why.

If he was able to handle JMM in the first couple of fights, we wouldn't be discussing a FIFTH one right now.

He won 9 rounds in the 3rd match, and knocked him across the ring in the 4th match in the 3rd round, and then later knocked him unconscious, what more do yall people want :patsch

Do yall so called fans want Manny to get killed, enough is enough

Either Manny takes a substantial pay cut and make 3-5 mill for this fight or simply go away:hi:

Of course....JMM is in a better position at the negotiation table this time around....with that comes the ability to ask for a higher purse...better PPV money and other things like location, ring size and gloves.

It's a RISK vs REWARD thing for Juan. PAC is looking for redemption and has to be willing to give Juan a better deal this time around...but it has to be realistic. The only way for Juan to use his PPV drawing power is to headline his own PPV card....do over a million buys and then look at a 5th fight with PAC to see if he can squeeze out more money...but I don't think he's looking to do that.

Manny has to take a cut then, if he truly wanted some type of vindication, Marquez owes Manny nothing at this point it is Arum and crew begging him for this match

No...whooping someone is what JMM did to Cotto or Floyd did to Shane...DOMINATING performances are considered an ass whoopin'...or a schooling.

JMM and PAC gave as good as they got...actually PAC over the 4 fights did more damage and scored more KD's than Juan.

No one said PAC or Juan were able to handle the other....they both present major problems for the other guy whenever the square off. That's why we've had so many fights....because all of them were close and competitive.

if one or the other REALLY dominated and WHOOPED the other guy then there wouldn't be a need for a rematch, rubber match, 4th or even 5 meeting.

JMM has one draw, and his name is Manny Pacquiao. And as unfair as that may seem in terms of negotiations to Bob Arum, it is very relevant here. The man becomes a draw when he's in the ring with Pac.

And Manny isn't making 20 million for his next fight after nearly getting killed in his previous one. Everyone used to always cry about DLH making tons of money while continually losing all of his big fights. Well, Oscar never got destroyed in such a manner.

Juan may have won 9 rounds on your card....but in reality he beat PAC by 2 rounds at best...clear enough to get the win but in no way DOMINANT.

PAC got Knocked Down in the 4th fight...sure....He also broke Juan's nose, knocked him down and banged him up really bad before Juan found that counter shot to end it. Not exactly a one sided affair even though there's no questioning the ending.

I don't think anyone wants to see a fighter die....but those are the risks these men take in the profession they chose. It's why I respect boxers, especially at this level.

Manny could make $3 to $5 million taking a **** at MSG....a 5th fight with Juan as a PPV event he'll clear $20 million easy while Juan makes twice as much as he has ever made in his entire career.:hi:

JMM has his own fan base and following...it's certainly increased after that win....but I think Manny's drawing power is still there based on how the fight went....it was fight of the year..it was seen by over a million people and it's a fight that is in demand.

With PPV money PAC will easily clear $20 million just like he did in the lost to Juan in fight #4. A 5th fight could see a career high payday for BOTH depending on how many people are going to support the 5th fight.

He should, I guess I just don't know how much each made.. Wasn't it less than $30 million guaranteed for the last fight? I don't see it making an additional $10 million because Manny was KTFO. Marquez made a power play with this demand, we'll see how much he sticks to his guns.

Hiring bodyguards doesn't actually cost that much. A lot of people I know have guards outside their houses in their own native countries.
Also, does Marquez even have a bodyguard to begin with...REALLY?
We don't know anything about Marquez's spending habits. He seems like a sensible man and has a stable family.
He also lives in Mexico city, that has the least crime.

yeah i think is fair considering that he should have won at least one in their previous outing but could never get the L and allowed Pac to get the bigger share.

Juan has to play his new hand! He would be stupid not to. But you know how negotiations work. Juan is starting off high...he will make a HUGE increase but no way will he get a guarantee $20million. After PPV monies are paid Juan could do over that amount if he plays his cards right.

Juan deserves a lot more money but he has to be realistic.
