To be honest it was a fairly **** quality Australian title fight, I mean there would be amateurs out there that would of put on a better fight. An Australian title used to mean something but obviously not any more or has the standard of Australian boxer fallen so far. It was an embarrassment for boxing to showcase that fight to the Australian public as the Australian title.

Shaggy fought like **** with his chin in the air swinging Hail Marys against a bloke who should be fighting around 147-140 and was lucky to get him out of there. It ruined my night when Galvin lost because he should of got the upset if there was a boxing God.

It also wasn't a good look for boxing when the mic is in the corner and the fighter says he can't hear and doesn't want to be there and his corner says **** it you don't need to hear you only need to punch. Fair enough Shaggy looks like a tough **** now but if your a trainer who has the best interest of your fighter at heart you worry about their health first, period. If he lost it would be a different story and what if any are the long term implications for his health.

League is more popular. When it's on Fridays less people watch because of the 2 games of footy on Friday night. Thats my guess McKinnon-Flanagan was the last fight.

 

Youre right about the quality of Aus titles at the moment. An Aus title used to require a decent record, but now fighters are fighting for them after 5-7 fights.

Aus domestic boxing has taken a dive in the last few years. Look at the titles being contested and who is fighting for them. You may have 3-4 different belts (state, Aus, Regional etc) on any given show being fought for by guys with a 90% loss record. And belts from multiple sanctioning bodies at that. ****, ive seen an amateur world title fought over 3x2 min rds by two 45 year olds! The meaning of a domestic title in Aus is starting to mean alot less than it has previously. Then look at the quality of undercard fights and its obvious if the promoter is a tight arse or not.

If promoters flog the **** out of Domestic boxing too much longer the interest will die. Promoting is an endurance sport.

I thought that was very careless of his corner, they clearly have no regard for his health, I wanted galvin to win, I also think the ref stopped it prematurely considering the state king was in earlier and he let that go
