    There have been a lot of threads comparing the Klitschko's to HOF and ATG fighters from previous eras. Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Holyfield all have wins over "A" list heavyweights and earned their standing the hard way. Some people in this forum seem to think that the Klitschko's compare favorably to HOF and ATG heavyweights from yesteryear. If that's your arugment then my question is;

    Exactly WHO has either Klitschko ever beaten?

    Who did Larry Holmes beat? I'd argue his opposition was just as bad if not worse than Wladimir's.

    This thread is NOT about Larry Holmes. It's about the Klitsckos.

    Now answer the question; Exactly WHO has Klitschko beaten?

    Can't really put mercer as a notable win for wlad as he was a total shell by then.

    Same logic applies with Holmes win over ali, he was a wreck by the time they fought.

    Wladimir: Ray Mercer and Lamon Brewster? No way. You forgot Sam Peter, one of Klitschko's best (career-defining) victories.

    Vitali: Well, Briggs and Johnson aren't notable wins at all. You should add Herbie Hide and also Timo Hoffmann, who was back then a formidable german prospect (first pro-boxer who went the distance with Vitali).

    You know what, at the time I really **** on the Briggs fight but the reality is, other than his title losing effort to iggy he hadn't lost for shitloads of time. I'm not saying he's the greatest victory but I'm thinking i was wrong in my dismissal of him at the time.

    Briggs a G

    Exactly! Holmes beat some very good fighters!
    Next target for Klitschko apologists is Mike Tyson.
    Tyson beat what like 5 or 6 world champions and unififed the division alone. Berbick,Tucker,Spinks,Bruno,Smith,Pinklon Thomas,Botha,Golota etc

    Gotta love the Holmes comparison.

    Larry didn't have a brother to help him out in the division :yep

    Briggs was a good fighter and a nice guy and everything but the guy has nothing on his resume. Briggs needed a gift to beat the nearly 50 year old Foreman. Then Briggs beat that Sergei guy and that is all.
    Technicially he was a 2 time champion but he was 40 when Vitali fought him.

    It was impressive that Vitali beat him so one sided but not really a "great" win.
