Floyd being 36 will have no bearing on the ass whooping that he will put the Ghost's ass. Remember, BHop was 36 when he waxed Tito's ass. As a matter of fact, Floyd is more deliberate in his offense and defense. I think the Ghost is catching him at his most dangerous. The Ghost deserves the shot but it is going to be a complete disaster for him. I can't wait to see the look on his face when he first realizes that his ass is in trouble. It will be priceless.:bbb

Mayweather is such a careful, defensive boxer that it's easy to assume he will suffer when you rough him up and put constant pressure on him. Mayweather actually reacts well to that, though. I was rewatching parts of the Hatton fight recently, and when Hatton tried to push him around Mayweather got rough in the clinches and started throwing combinations and being aggressive, hurting Hatton and forcing him to back off. We also saw what happened when Ortiz decided to headbutt him. Mayweather has a mean streak.

That being said, he's past his prime, and maybe he'll be more vulnerable to a fast pace and a rough fight than he was a few years ago. One thing I noticed about Guerrero in the Berto fight was his high workrate -- he just kept punching and punching, even when they were in clinches. That's a good asset to have against Mayweather. Guerrero is open to the uppercut on the inside, but he's also able to use some good shots of his own at that range.

I think the referee will be a key factor in the fight. The referee in the Berto fight seemed to be a lot less interested in breaking fighters up than we usually see, which led to a lot of inside fighting, wrestling and rough tactics. He also allowed Guerrero to use the illegal tactic of holding and hitting, which led to one of the knockdowns -- I have no idea why he didn't do anything, as Guerrero didn't exactly hide it well. Another referee, like Cortez, could have seriously changed the flow of that fight. Guerrero has to hope that he gets the same referee, or one with a similar style. I highly doubt that Mayweather's team would allow that, though.

Guerrero is not gonna fight Floyd like he fought Berto. Theyre gonna box in there. Floyds gonna put the pressure and Guerrero will look to ambush Floyd. All Berto was doing was holding, forcing Guerrero to wrestle with him. Guerrero Mayweather will be a much more techincal fight. More entertaining as well.

I agree with the bold! That illegal hold and hit combined with Berto's arrogance and just just a down right dumb plan led to his loss.

robert doesnt have the pop to change floyds strategy or the skill to outbox him. his only hope is to land the punch of his life and hope floyds conditioning has deteriorated with age. i really think floyd has a good chance of knocking him out, and its been years since ive given floyd a chance at a ko.
