Barely anyone outside Germany will watch the fight. Wlad fighting another bum he should be ashamed of himself.

Why not fight Haye again and shut him up or doesn't Wlad want to challenge himself as usual.

Pianetta is all wrong for Wlad. Look for a brutal stoppage in the third.

Yeah I would rather see WLad fight Haye agian. It seems Pianeta would be a guy WLad fought when he was just starting Pro boxing. Hell maybe I can get a shot at Wlad next. It seems with each fight he keeps stepping down. I hope this fight falls through. This fight is not good for boxing in anyway. I would rather see Wlad rematch Chambers insted of this.

Wlad has the right to keep fighting and make a living. People want to see him fight, he's very popular in Germany.

Larry Holmes and Joe Louis had some worse title defenses than Pianeta.

    Holmes title fights:

    Mike Weaver (41-18 ) (1979)
    Ossie Ocasio (23-13) (1979)
    David Bey (18-11) (1985)

    Joe Louis title fights:

Johnny Paychek (not ranked top 10)
    Arturo Godoy
Al McCoy (3-3 in previous 6, not ranked top 10)
Red Burman (not ranked top 10)
Gus Dorazio (not ranked top 10)
Abe Simon (coming off loss to 15-11 Jim Thompson)
Tony Musto (was 2-4 in previous 6, not ranked top 10)

Why is Pianeta's fighting old McCall any worse than Ali fighting age 47 Archie Moore? Or Mike Moorer being KOed by an old Foreman?

    Pianeta is:

    BoxRec #17
    WBO #9
    WBA #12
    - undefeated 28-0
    - 6'5", 240 pounds (no blown up cruiserweight)
    - young at age 28 and in his physical prime (no shot old guy)
    - active, he fought 4 times in 2012
    - a southpaw (more difficult style for the champ)
    - a known name in Germany, makes the fight bigger there

Decent opponent for Wlad right now. I'm looking forward to it!

I'm not happy with the election of Pianeta as Wlad's opponent. After Thompson it would have been ok, but not after Wach. Hopefully Wlad will beat Povetkin, or Pulev, later in the year and look good.

Not critisizing the fight but Weaver was a world class guy, don't just post his record and Archie Moore was a bit like Hopkins, great for a long time. I think he was a champ at about 43.

Sorry, this is a crap fight. What's even worse is that it will likely have a even crappier undercard which K2 seems to have no concern about. Maybe Wlad/Banks needs an easy fight to practice working together. Anyway it's very disappointing.

Stay busy fight for Wlad before he will do his mandatory.

Wlad by KO, nothing wrong with this prediction against Pianeta. You can stop trying to blame me. I will not stop writing.

Vlad by TKO or KO. If Vlad were to fight Wilder, an American boxing fan hero, he would knock Wilder out, no contest. Vlad would also knock Jennings out, Arreola, he has already knocked Thompson out, Vlad has already knocked Chambers out. Vlad would knock Scott out, Pulev is really good fighter, but he is not ready for Vlad, neither is Boytsov, nor Fury, ad infinitum...............

Vitali would beat those boxers also, even with an injury. I hope Vitali does not have to retire because of injury, hope he fights, at least, 3 more fights...............I remember when Vitali knocked Herbie Hide out in London, Vitali was a big underdog, really, I though Hide was dead! Second round devastating knockout by Vitali, awesome!!!!!!!

Wlad should win pretty easily. From what I have seen of Pianeta he's going to be a stiffer test than Wach or Mormeck so it's not the worst opponent Wlad has fought recently. Just goes to show how low my expectations are these days for Klitschko opponents.

Vlad would not satisfy any American fans not matter who he fought. Who in American can beat Vitali or Vlad?! Pianeta can beat America top ten, but American fans don't know him because USTV boycotts Klitschko's fights out of bias.

Most people will probably pick it up at some stage, if not watch it live. Boxing fans enjoy watching boxing. It still doesn't detract from the over-arching issue that the fight hardly sets the pulse racing. When things become this run of the mill you have to expect some people to complain and lose interest. It's not a dig at Wlad so much, but it's not difficult to understand some of the comments.
