Did Danny 'Swift' Garcia fake a rib injury to avoid Matthysse?

I think Garcia will beat Matthysse and Peterson but the rib injury clearly bought them some time and opens up a unification if they fight the winner of Matthysse Peterson. That makes much more sense to me since Matthysse hasnt won a signature fight and Peterson will be that final test to prove Matthysse is worthy.

In all honesty I feel Peterson would be more of a threat to Garcia...he actually has good boxing skills, great inside game, a decent boxing IQ & the ability to adapt....tough fight....

Matthysse is tough, very durable, he can box also, great at cutting off the ring & possesses legitimate power & a chin at the weight class (like Danny)....

However he is slow on his feet & typically a slow starter, he has issues with movement...and in the past has shown the propensity to be OUT-BOXED (Judah & Alexander)

To surmise he would be a good competitor, but he is still a 1 dimensional fighter....(IMO)

i dont care. as long as he fights the winner of Peterson-Matthysse.

Peterson-Garcia would be just as good as Garcia-Matthysse

    Matthysse will execute Peterson.

Nothing against Lamont, but he's pretty ****ing average.... shut out by Bradley, couldn't beat Victor Ortiz.

He's a pretty basic fighter, with an average defence and less than brilliant footwork. not exactly what you want facing Lucas.

You dog on Ortiz but praise Matthysse? What has Matthysse accomplished that even comes close to Ortiz? Nada. Lamont was dominating Bradley on the inside fighting, hurting him with body shots. It wasnt untill Bradley started to box from a distance. Plus Bradley is one of the best fighters today, no shame in losing to him. Matthysse is one dimensional. Peterson isnt. Ur in for a shocker if u think Matthysse wil 'execute' Peterson. :-(

Peterson is going to push Matthysse in a way people haven't seen yet.

    What has Ortiz ever done?

He's been fast tracked onto HBO and basically forced on the boxing fans, in terms of who he has beaten, his resume is very thin.

    Quit vs Maidana
    Quit vs Floyd
    Quit vs Lopez

    He really isn't that good.

Back to Lamont, nothing against him, but he's nothing special. I'm glad he beat Khan because I don't like him either, but I'm reluctant to say Lamont is a world beater just because he got past Khan, then whacked an old Kendall Holt.

Danny has also taken all the momentum away from zab. Zab was incensed and training like crazy after angels shenanigans. Now that it been delayed, its thrown him off and probably taken away some of his gusto and will to win

Agree! He got mentally focused. That's a dispensable quality. In addition to promoters a lot of fighters have to realize that getting motivated to fight your heart out for 12 rounds takes a lot of things falling into place mentally and is up to an individual. That's really fickle and harder to control than most can imagine

Look it's OK that you support Matthysse, however I don't feel he can deal with Danny...I mean let's be honest I believe Danny is a little underrated & Matthysse is a LITTLE overrated.....

Danny is a serious quality fighter....
