So if a fighter cwho was faster, stronger, more technically sound, and better coordinated than any boxer in all of human history came along but found himself in a poor era, he wouldn't be an ATG?
That was not the question you asked. You asked if two absolutely identical boxers had different resumes should be considered equal in achievement, and the answer is no of course, or why else would both fight when they can share in the others glory? The fighter you just described in this quote is someone like Larry Holmes who is indeed an ATG, but he didn't get knocked out by also-rans until he was well past-it or have a tag team partner.
Larry Holmes got a gift decisions over Witherspoon and Williams. What you think makes no difference whatsoever. The majority of non-Brits think Wladimir is an ATG. Your opinion is totally irrelevant. It means absolutely nothing. By the way, I see you have the ****** loser Adam Booth in you avatar. If Wladimir is not an ATG, then Haye must be a club fighter.
Eastern Europe and Germany is not the world, everyone else couldn't give a **** about either Klit. As for the rest of your post, huge surprise a Klitard turns out to be a hateful ****
The three Wlad losses were not when he was seasoned, unlike Lewis's one punch KO loss to Rahman, but no doubt he is top 10 in your mind because he beat a terrible version of Tyson and out pointed an over the hill Holyfield.
He was prime for the sanders and brewsters loss no doubt. Makes me laugh when people refer to holy as over the hill though. He was the best hw in the world, had unified 2 belts and was coming off 3 stoppages over Tyson and Moorer. Plus he was foty twice in a row and it wouldn't surprise me if he was p4p top ten after battering mm. That version of holy pushed Lewis all the way in the rematch. I had him losing 7-5. Prime for prime he and Lewis is 50/50.
They did what they're supposed to and fought everyone available in the division. There's nothing anyone can ask more of a fighter. I'd rather look at it this way, if the Klitschkos weren't here holding all the belts and keeping the division dignified, you will see the likes of Price and Fury exchanging one punch knockouts for the undisputed title.
This is 100% true. Both are ATG's and Wlad rates significantly higher. I have Wlad at number 8-10 depending on the day you ask me, and I have Vitali in at around 15.
Wladimir's name is already being mentioned along with the likes of Joe Louis and Larry Holmes for the length of his title reign as well as successful defenses. To be mentioned in the same breath as Louis is a feat in itself.:deal
No, I was quoting you because no one will probably ever mention the name of Price or Fury along with the Great Joe Louis.:yep I'm happy to have been alive to see the fighting careers of Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis, and both Klitschkos............ I can't wait to see who comes along next to dominate the division.:deal
The post I quoted said without wlad we would likely see the hw title changing hands through 1 punch knockouts by fighters on the level of fury and price. I think that isn't a bad thing. A bit of drama is good.
Lamon Brewster- "Wladimir Klitschko is a great athlete, ... But Wladimir Klitschko is not a great fighter. There's a difference.
