I love people posting 20 seconds of a fight as proof of the whole thing. Early on Abril did smother Rios without holding. The youtube of Abril's tactics even points that out at the beginning. He abandoned it to save his body very quickly.
That accounts for 20 seconds of each round when Rios was walking through his pity pat arm punches on his way in. Rios didn't bother to avoid them cuz he simply didn't need too. You don't score meaningless punches no matter how flashy at the pro level. You score meaningful punches.
Rios was outclassed and the sad part is that Bogere did better than Rios did at generating effective pressure.
Clean punches don't count, they have to bother/hurt your opponent to be 'meaningful'. Wasn't that Pacs fans argument for the Bradley fight?
