Anybody else underwhelmed that Groves is chief support for Froch?

Barker-Lee is a bigger fight than either of those IMHO. I'd take Barker-Lee and Groves vs. anyone on the same card TBH.

Groves vs. TBA and no Barker-Lee, that would be poor and thats what I can see happening.

    Hearn said:

"Adam called me at the end of last week and said: 'We've severed our agreement with Frank ******, what do you think?' I went straight ahead and had a meeting with him and we agreed it in half an hour.

"Once I get confirmation from a fighter and his legal team they they've terminated their agreement and are free agents ... nothing to do with me, an issue between the two [of them] ... I will talk with them. One thing I'll always do, especially at this point, is cover my back, make sure we don't slip up anywhere or give anyone an excuse to get litigious with us. It's the first thing we do."

Hearn said his agreement with Groves is for three fights and that Booth would decide whom he wants his fighter to fight.

"Anyone we deal with, three fights is what we do. I never strap people into three- or five-year deals. Speak to any one of our fighters: no one has ever left. Yet. I don't think they've got any reason to. Everyone gets plenty of exposure, everyone gets plenty of fights, everyone gets paid on time.

"I don't want to give anyone the opportunity at this stage, the way things are going, to put myself in an awkward position. I don't have to slag anyone off. I don't have to slag ****** off, or any other promoter. If the fighters want to leave a certain promoter and join us, I'm over the moon. It doesn't matter why a fighter would choose to leave a certain promoter. But I'm going to make certain we get the best ones."

Not sure what your saying. For me Groves vs Oostizeun is a better fight but I get Barker vs Lee is bigger. Bigger not always better.

Anybody vs TBA is poor if there is a press conference for a TV fight.

What I'm saying is that, considering that both Quigg-Frampton AND Barker-Lee were on some peoples hitlist for the Froch-Kessler undercard, Groves vs. Oostizeun, Groves vs. Anderson or Groves vs. TBA doesn't really cut it as a lone chief support.

Groves vs Oos does for me. Thats an awesome fight. The rest don't. But myself and others were getting ahead of themselves.

I think we will see a strong card. Its in Hearn long term interests for PPV to be deemed a success so he can do more. Haye vs Harrison/Wlad did huge numbers but were not deemed a success by Sky because of poor undercards and the main events not delivering.

I think Hearn is a smart enough guy to recognise he needs to put on a solid bill. Even if the fights on the undercard are not huge, they need to deliver as fights.

This. For me this is how Burns got known (v Martinez) so if ah earn puts Yafai in with someone decent in a hard fight that may do the trick.

I know the Champs league final will be watched by just about all footy fans, but the 'casual' football fan who loves their boxing will be much more interested in a Man Utd V Barca final (e.g.) than a PSG V Barca final. There is no doubt Hearn would have been hoping for a Man U final, so i think the undercard may be a bit better or more stacked after tonights result. I am a big footy fan - but if im paying £15 i would rather watch a big undercard than 2 foreign teams (would have prob watched Man U if they made it). I will be heading round to my bro's who is a Man U fan, so now atleast i will get to see more boxing.

For 15 quid extra I would hope that the main event is 22 carat diamond encrusted and the undercard 15 carat or above. Groves being main support doesn't indicate that this is going to be the case. Froch - Kessler being PPV is a nonsense really

Groves v Anderson would be a decent main support. I'm guessing there will be some more danish fighters on the card other than just Kessler.

How can you say that when no opponent is named?

IMO hes a talented boxer.Came into Frochs backyard and gave him a very close fight. Then showed the blueprint how to deal with Abraham.I know he's not crash bang but again IMO is a good, world class man,if an underachiever and inactive.
Also, can't see after using this Argentinian lad as a warmup for maybe 2 rounds they're gonna pick either him or the South African as Georges next fight.A step up of Tony Thompson proportions.Ive got as much doubt about that as I had about the Jones/Purdy fight ever coming off.Theyre both, again IMO,harder fights than Steiglitz or even Abraham. It would make more sense to rematch Anderson and for me,far more likely.Hearn, and more importantly Booth, are seemingly using their heads with this mismatch Saturday.Theyre not gonna **** it up in May.

I would like to have seen Frampton in a decent test ,but hes out a few weeks earlier so aint going to happen. Groves would be good, but dont expect him to be ranked by the WBO in the next few months, hes not promoted by FWP so that will prob disappear

Why is everyone getting so worked up when it hasn't been announced yet? I'm still hoping we'll get plenty of Hearn v Sauerland match ups similar to what happened for the Magnificent Seven bill when Bunny used to promote

If Dirrell was 'fighting' in my back garden I would close the curtains.

Hasnt he got brain damage anyway or has Dr Shaw-Hi cured him now?

Because we all know he isn't going to fight someone world class or a quality up and coming contender. He'll likely have a relatively safe fight against some who's seen better days.

We won't see Oosthuizen or Rodriguez. We'll likely see a Manfredo Jr or Mack and that doesn't excite people for the chief support of a PPV fight.
