How effective do you think the bob and weave could be for lower weights?

Pacquaio and Mayweather can't and repeat can not start bobbing and weaving post-20 let alone post-30, but it's a fine style at any weight

Jose Torres implemented the Cus D Amato peekaboo well at LHW, as did Patterson at that weight.

Duran and Henry Armstrong used similar techniques against taller opponents

Do you think if Duran had perfected the bob and weave he could have beaten Hearns?

I think Patterson would've beaten Liston had he mastered the bob and weave. Wait...

no way. if duran was square on and slipping punches and getting under the guard. hearns would just launch the hook and light him up with a 1-2.

bob and weave is pointless to an extent. it uses a lot of energy for a relatively small advantage which a good technician being able to deal with it anyway.

by all ****ing means duck and slip a punch. god damn dont get hit by punch but bobbing and weaving just makes you timable. kids roll in and a confident fighter would just see his head go left, he will throw his 1 then when the other guy slips to the right he will throw his right and meet him mid way.

a better technician will know you are off balance at the larger swings of the head so would just turn you....which effectively has just made you a square target swinging into the punch.

it was a style used by crude brawlers and is crucial part of a fighters training...but lets not make it seem like it is a 'style' lost to the ages.

it's like saying the high guard is disappearing.

Why is the duck more effective then the bob and weave? And why do you say the high gaurd is dissapearing?
