    Hopkins 58
    Cloud 25

Wow. That's crazy. Expected it to be closer to 50/50 than that.

All I can figure is that this has somehow become the "look how smart I am" trendy pick, almost like the boxing fan equivilent of "Hipsters"...either way Hopkins isn't winning this fight, IMO.

Dawson had height, reach, range, speed advantage over BHop was able to keep Hopkins on the outside and not allow BHop to do what he does at mid/close range.

Pascal had the speed advantage and was able to keep on the outside and ambush then dart back out of range.

What has Cloud got here to keep Hopkins at range? Cloud likes to bring the fight to his opponent at mid/close range and this is where BHop would need the fight to be if he is looking to school Cloud.

The only way I see Cloud winning is the same way Calzaghe won, and that is to outwork the older man with a high workrate, and the Calzaghe SD could have gone either way....... but to be fair to Cloud, he does have a high workrate.

I don't think Hopkins can fight hard enough to win seven rounds. He needs some 10-8 magic or else a shocking knockout.

At times I suspect Bernard will make Cloud look foolish, but TC will win on aggression, even if it's mostly ineffective.

This fight will be intriguing live but have zero replay value.

It depends what style of fighting Cloud brings.
The most effective style against old fighters is the bob and weave+peekaboo.
Tyson dominated Holmes because Holmes couldn't deal with Tyson's head movement. Hopkins is older than Holmes and slow as molasses. Cloud is prime and with the proper head movement he could KO Hopkins. It just depends if he's willing to implement the tactic.

Pascal could have easily knocked Hopkins out.. but Jean's head movement was abysmall.

my friend sent me the record of Tavoris Cloud today. Yes, Hopkins can beat this guy and he picked well. This guys has 111 total rounds. And the guys he had beaten all have previous losses by knockouts as far as I can see, except for Johnson who was in his 40s. Hopkins will win a decision. This cherrypicking which fighters are doing now is too much. Boxing has to get back to good fighters fighting the best, not handpicking to stay unbeaten or stay in the spotlight.

Are u for real? Hopkins is freaken 50. Can u blame him for taking a fighter who matches up well? Clould could very easily put Hopkins to sleep and no one would be shocked. I mean call out someone like Floyd but Hopkins?

Dawson is the top guy at 175. Hopkins already fought him twice and couldn't beat him. Pascal and Cloud - the IBF champion - are in the next tier (Kovalev, too, but he needs some time to build his name), with Cleverly, Shumenov, and some others in the tier below them. With Bute busy with Pascal, who Hopkins already beat, and an injured Ward and Hopkins agreeing that they'll never fight each other, who else is there to fight? Cloud is undefeated on paper, holds a title belt which he has defended multiple times, and Hopkins is pushing 50 and is on his last legs. This isn't cherry-picking, even though stylistically it strongly favors Hopkins if he's still able to perform at the world-class level. It's a fight that makes complete sense.

Hopkins has taken on all the big names at 175 lately in succession. Pascal twice, Dawson twice, and now Cloud. And if he wins this, he'll probably take on somebody like Cleverly or Murat. All of this has taken place after his 46th birthday, too.

LOL...this isn't a cherry pick, and if you believe it is, then mark it in the "cherry pick gone wrong" catagory because I don't care what your friend sent, the bottom line Hopkins isn't winning this fight.

I don't think i've come across anyone on here that's more hard to please then MAG, he doesn't even rate Duran's win over Barkley because it was a supposed cherry pick and Duran avoided Kalambay and Nunn.
