To be honest, is there a pro wrestling submission that will work on MMA?

I'm thinking about Bret Hart's sharpshooter if possible.

I was thinking if someone can actually pull it off. Let's just say the opponent pulled guard or just on his back. Both feet up and can easily be grabbed.

Not trolling or anything. Maybe, just maybe.

I remember at school the Boston Crab actually worked against a struggling victim if you could grab both of their feet tightly enough

It would be awesome to pull off the Sharpshooter against someone in a real fight. You'd just look like a boss. I suppose if someone broke into your house and you rendered them unconscious you could put them in the Sharpshooter until the police turn up.

I got put in a boston crab in practice once. I had him in guard and he just stood up, walked over my head until I was on my stomach and got the crab. You'd have to be a pretty big strong fella to do it though.

many of the wrestling holds are simply submissions with the sting taken out of them. the sleeper hold and crippler crossface for example. (bull**** aside, its rumoured the crossface will actually break your neck due to the non linear strain if done properly)

rob Floyd beat me to it but I was about to chime in with the single leg boston crab. One of the guys from my school got submitted in one during a tournament. Afterward he said he didn't know how to get out so I tried to explain to him that if he watched more Bret Hart he would have known the escape.

The wrestling moves most likely to be effective are the old stretching and wrenching maneuvers made famous by Gene LeBell's books.

M'Pumbu tried it on Bellator last week. (the sharpshooter)

    It was comically epic failure.

Tho its not submission moves i would like to see a brainbuster, a Cobra clutch back breaker or a two handed bulldog

  12. Oh wait are you suggesting pro wrestling submissions aren't real?

In the midst of a scramble I can't see a reason why one can't slap on a figure-four leglock :yep
